Default Looking for the app to guide me in Italy - Rome

Going to Rome for few days end of this week, was wondering if anyone knows a good app to provide an offline guidance (based on the gps alone) for the muni, train and places to see (but muni and train more important).

I have not tried any of these, but they look like they will work for you. Anything that does require data you could always use in a WiFi hotspot.

Yeah, If you want all that, you should get a local sim. I would suggest the operator Wind who have a 9 Euro deal for 1Gb over 30 days. I dont remember how much the sim costs, but it would be worth it. After that, I would suggest:

1) Google Maps (duhh). Use the wikipedia overlay a d you'll know right where all the sights are
2) The ATAC mobile site is really good for planning which bus to take. They have GPS on most of the buses and you can see how long before the next one arrives. The mobile link is here in English
3)There is a treinitalia app for looking up train times in and out of Rome. Cant remember the exact name, but search the market for italia.

Hope that helps

He is using a Verizon phone. No SIM and no CDMA in Italy.
