Default New Handcent update

Hey everyone,

There was a new update for Handcent SMS on Nov 30th. This update seems to be making my whole Phone ( Sprint Hero) chug and lag. Is anyone else experiencing this? Also...If I wanted to go back to the previous version
( 2.9.17 & 2.9.18 ) how could I do that.

Thanks guys....

I noticed today that one of my apps said "Uninstall Updates". Not sure what that does. I am assuming that it goes back to a previous version.

I haven't updated Handcent yet. So thanks for the heads up on the issue.

Do you have an app manager that you can backup your apps with?

If yes, did you backup the last version of Hancent?

If yes, then just install the prior version of Handcent.

Yea. The only thing you can do is uninstall the app.

You definitely should get an app manager. They are very useful for situations like yours.

As far as your problems with Handcent, I think You are just going to have to wait for another update.

Here's another tip. Before I update I usually wait 3-4 days just to see what the feedback is from different users. Well, that was before I got an app manager. Now I don't need to.

No worries.

I'm using AppControl Full Version. Here's the link. AppControl Full version v1.4.8.2 Application for Android | Tools

It has a great UI, and doubles as a task manager. You can also backup your apps to your email just in case your sd card messes up. It costs $2.95.

There are plenty others too.
Best Paid (IMO):The last three do way more than just backup apps. Check out the links. I use MyBackup Pro.

AppManager Pro AppManager Pro v1.3.0 Application for Android | Tools

GPhone Manager Pro GPhone Manager Pro, All In One v1.7.9 Application for Android | Tools

Sprite Backup Sprite Backup v1.3.1.85 Application for Android | Tools

MyBackup Pro MyBackup Pro v2.2.0 Application for Android | Tools

Best Free (IMO):
AppManager AppManager v0.6.0 Application for Android | Tools

GPhone Manager http://www.androlib.com/r.aspx?r=app+manager&t=free

App manager App manager v1.2.1 Application for Android | Tools

Also, some file managers now have the ability to backup apps. ES Files Explorer seems to be the best IMO.

This is something else I just thought of. All the lag could possibly be because of the amount of apps that are running. Try closing out the things you don't use. You'll save battery and there should be less lag.
