I want to unsync all my Facebook contacts to free some space
Then only sync certain ones I want
How do I do this?

You can't, if the contact has something in the phone number field then you'll get it in sync

They're right, you can't. However you have the option of syncing facebook contacts with only existing contacts that are on the phone. This can be done in menu -> settings -> Sync contacts.

As you've seen around other posts, if you go to settings/manage applications/ and then click on "contacts storage" and then "clear data" it'll wipe out TONS of wasted data space. I had 25mb of space, cleared it (after backing up of course) and then ended up with 5 and all contacts back in place. I have no idea how in the hell this works and/or worked but whatever. It cleared enough space on my Mytouch 4g that I no longer have "low storage" space warnings. Sweeeeeet
