Default wifi router like app?

Is there an app that lets you turn your android device into a mifi? I already have tethering but I want to share a connection with friends if they need it. ...

Interesting idea. I don't know if any phone hardware would support an access point mode or not, but I can definitely see some sort of ad-hoc wireless internet sharing being possible.

If such an app exists I would definitely be interested.

Doesn't exist yet, or I should say doesn't exist for non-rooted phones.
If you can root your phone then there are some apps that do what you ask.
Now I just have to wait until you smart people root the droid

yeah, wifi tether for root users will hand out DHCP addresses. But like said before, you have to be rooted. I believe it will hand out multiple addresses.

The wm wifi router is one reason I am thinking about switching back to my TP. I need to learn more about rooting.
