Was wondering if anyone knows of app that i can use to combat text bomb? My sister has a app on her phone that stops all text except the 1st one that comes in. So when i text bomb her she only gets the 1st one, but i get all of hers....so was wondering if anyone knew the name of the app that filters text like she has???

No i don't want to block my sister's number I just want the same app she has that lets me block a text bomb if i get one....I want to be able to text bomb someone but want to block there fun if they try to do it to me :-) is there not a app like that for android??
Well maybe you should just tell your sister to stop text bombing you. not only does it slow down your phone, its also very bad for the network to send hundreds of messages at once.

Well the way i see it is bought and paid for a andorid phone which of course has access to tons of apps most of which i use for very useful reason's, but every now and then i come across a crazy one like text bomb and get a kick out of it. I figure i paid for the phone and pay a crap ton of money to sprint for my service so forgive me if i indulge in a bit of lame fun every so often...

You pay for the ability to send texts to your friends, not bomb them with hundreds of texts at once. That's abusing the system. I get free water and heat at my apartment, does that mean i can leave the water on all day long and turn the heat up to 80 every day? No, just because you can doesnt mean you should.

Just what I'd expect to hear from a Rokcet Scientist. Text involves a minuscule amount of data. You could send thousands of texts and it wouldn't amount to the data use for one minute of YouTube. The carries make serious money on texting.

Texts arent data, they use the same cell radio as your phone. therefore when someone is text bombing someone, that could very easily affect someone else's ability to make a call.

As stupid as text bombing is, they are far too small to cause issues like that unless you filled a large football stadium with nothing but text-bombing tweens all connected to the same cell tower. Text messages contain 1120 bits of data. This means even with a horrifically slow 50 kbps connection that wouldn't be suitable for transmitting a clear voice signal it would only take 0.02 seconds to send a text. EDGE is a 384 Kbps connection...

Networks get jammed from everybody making phone calls, not from texting. Cell providers actually recommend that after a wide-spread emergency like an earthquake that you should communicate via text instead of voice. Using text bombs to bring down a network is like attempting a DoS attack using a dozen laptops. It's just not going to make a difference to the network at large.

Look I paid for the phone, and i pay for the service which happens to have a market full of apps most of which are useless i agree, but none the less i have every right to download and use which ever app i want how ever i want. I don't personally care if you like the app or think its right to use it. thats not why i put this post up in the 1st place.
I put the post up asking for a recommendation for a app, not for any of you to bad mouth anyone...the way i see it if you don't have a suggestion for the specific question i asked then don't post in here at all....period.

U could send a million text and sprint would still have profitted from you. Keep bombing your friends (who have unlimited plans. Have mercy on those who don't) until they figure out how to block.

Yea I did get the anti-sms bomber a week or two ago, and noticed this past week when a friend asked me the name of the text bomb program i have on my phone it was no longer listed on the market anymore (actually non are listed anymore)...so glad i have the app already!!!
I've heard of service denial happening to text bombers. If you don't know what that mans, it means your provider shuts your phone down from use. Period. Its a violation of your contract, which states that you will not do anything that potentially interrupts someone else's service.
Imagine owning a $600 smartphone, and no longer being able to use it because your provider shut you down. (They block your phone meid completely, and its HARD to get them to back off on a block.) And you are also liable for contract cancellation fees as well, if any, so you could loose your service AND have to pay them $200 as well.
Is it REALLY worth potentially loosing your phone completely for a childish prank like this? I certainly don't think so!
There is one for specific numbers (look for call filter in market) You can choose to block text or voice calls from specific numbers.
Since we don't have the texting plan, we hate texters. Now we are giving texters our google voice numbers instead of our regular cell numbers, so they come in via data, and do not cost us anything.
Just be aware that app-level blocking of text messages does not prevent you from being billed for the blocked messages. The app can't block the message until your device receives it. By that point, the messages have already counted against you. If billing or preserving your texting package are concerns then an app isn't a suitable solution.

Although what takeshi said is true in any case. This is why you don't have the option of "answering" the call with a busy signal et cetera.
