There's things like this missing and the google maps show which direction your facing feature that are on the iphone 3GS that aren't on the droid and it bothers me! No point in bragging about a compass if it has like no use....

iPhone fanboy's: Keep drinking that cool aid....
It took iPhone three iterations to even get a camera that can record video natively. I am 100% certain Android 3.0 OS will have video recording and editing standard.
I am looking for an application that will allow simple video editing to clip part of the video that is not relevant prior to posting or sharing

No one is going to make one because of the fragmentation in Android.
You have cameras in different phones that uses different codecs. Some record in 3gp, some in h.263, and in the future h.264 at different resolution. Editing h.264 is different than editing 3gp. And even within h.264, you have ONPV6.
Google recently announced a open-source codec a few months ago, IF every phone manufacture agrees to use it, then yes, maybe, a developer will make a video editor. For now, it is just too hard to develop an app if you need 40-50 different phones to test against.
This is just my opinion and I hope I am wrong on this.
I think u r wrong speedmaster. You've mentioned 3 codecs, big wow, that would be easy for a video editing app.
In comparing the ip4 and SGS, this video editing is becoming more of a deal breaker than I perhaps realise... the latest electricpig video showing ip4 footage shot and edited with an ip4 is just stunning.
Testtube here
it's only a matter of time before they release the API's for this and maybe even google will give us a fully functional app of this! but deffinetly not impossable! your welcome! =]
You beat me to it, I was about to mention the Youtube video editor feature thing. I haven't tried it out myself but was interested if others have, and if it runs on flash.

i am definitely about to use it. i'm sure there isn't much to be done with it, but just that it is and exists is awesome!!! and it has more potential than almost anything i have seen in the past year!

I Disagree with this opinion. There will be video editors for Android in the near future.
We can now edit videos in the cloud, thanks to googles youtube Testube editor
I have a 20 minute video on my N1, want to cut it shorter so I can load it onto Youtube, but it's too long to upload to Youtube in the 1st place to edit it there.

If you have a Windows machine, dump it the file there and use Windows Movie Maker to do your editing. It's a great FREE app from MS and fun to use - you can add transitions, music, captions and more. When you're done, upload it wherever you want. I have used it many times for fun vids of wakeboarding, my daughter's birth, and more.
I am so disappointed to not find an editor for my original Droid which would really be handy for those quick vids of my little one doing her thing baby thing.
This is very annoying considering that my phone seems to record better quality video than my actual camera, yet my mac doesn't want to know it.
My Droid1 saves the files as .3gp files, which after some reading, I learn is a special MPEG-4 wrapper. What I did on my mac was connect via USB, copy the desired movie file over and changed the file extension to .mov
to upload video from phone, edit, and then download. Its not perfect, as some of the buttons are a bit small for mobile screen, but it does work. Make sure you click the 'fullscreen' button.
Im using Desire running Froyo.

I have yet to introduce myself, which I will do shortly, however I just created this account reply and say thank you for posting this - it's a great tool.
To trim videos on your Android phone, check out the Snip Video Trimmer in the Market. It's my new app. It supports 3gp files created on your Android phone.
VidTrim is free on the market.
I installed it and it seems to work on the Evo4 for just clipping the ends of your videos before posting. Surprising they don't have anything else out there.

what ever happenedto snip video trimmer?I really wanted to try that out but it has completely dissapeared. Anyone gotny news onitor if there is anythingout there yet that can cut sections from a video not just beginging and end? splicing two videos would be highly useful but lets get the basics sorted first; pause and cut.

Cloud video editor
We launched Clesh for Android in February. We are now 55 upgrades further on, as we have added more and more of the functionality from the web version. We recently introduced publishing direct to YouTube (it has supported Facebook publishing for some time).
You will need a 1GHz A8 or better on your phone or tablet to run it, and if you are new to editing, you may want to try the free web trial version first at Clesh: Showreel.
The original tablet videos show you how to do simple things, like publishing a video to Facebook. I'm adding some more YouTube videos to the Market page showing what the buttons do and how it works.
I have the android xoom and I want to make my first video.
Can you tell me where there is a USER MANUAL for the MOVIE STUDIO app? I dont remember if I downloaded that to my XOOM or whether it was on the XOOM but I need to have a user manual.
Is it legitimate for me to give my email so someone can email me this information.
