VLC player, once it's released on Android will do just that You may even be able to do so with the stock Android player, and VLC running on the machine you're playing music on.

I'll give it a whirl this evening when I go home, and let you know.

I believe the OP is looking for an App that transmits output from the PC soundcard to the phone.

an app like VLC player would only transmit audio that is played through VLC on the PC.....not the PC soundcard as a whole.

It would be an amazing app if we could get one. You could essentially transport ANY audio from your PC (not just VLC source) to your phone. Very cool idea! I want!

Try Gmote. It allows you to browse your PC for media and can select to play it from either the PC ( effectively becoming a remote ) or through the phone speakers, via Wifi. Download the app from the store ( for free ) and the PC server from your computer.

It also has a feature that allows you to use your phones touchscreen to control your computers mouse and keyboard.

This is not what the OP is looking for, I have tried it already as well as what I believe is every other similar app out there, they all just stream music from a specific folder on the PC or through a specific player on the PC, but not just streaming the PC audio out... I am also looking for an app or just a way to do this, doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do for someone with the know how.

I would also be very interested in this. I have a large room with a home theatre pc and would like to use headphones to listen to my computers output... not just media... here IM's, websites with sound... whatever...

running a 10 ft wire to my headphones works, but my phone is sitting right next to me... i wish i could use wifi to stream it.

In other words BUMP
