Can't post a Tweet, because Twitter says it doesn't know my location and I respond not to allow it to find it, so Twitter won't post it. I don't want a location in my Tweets, don't post it in my PC Tweets. Where to shut off whatever makes it look for location?

Hmm...do you have GPS on? If not turn it on, then go back to create your tweet. Let it lock onto your location, then switch location off, then post your tweet. You can now turn GPS off and it should remember the setting next time you tweet.

Ah, I see what happened. The GPS is turned ON in settings, but the icon wasn't up top, so I guess it shut off due to inactivity. Meanwhile, there's a little slider switch for location on the Twitter app. Somehow, I managed to turn it ON, so when I tried to post without the GPS active, the app was unhappy. Slid it to OFF and all is well, I posted successfully.

So, I fired up Google Maps and voila, the GPS communication icon pops up. Exit Google Maps, and the GPS icon goes away.

It would appear that the the GPS communication is on-demand, rather than constant. And that turning it on in settings just enables it, rather than actually making it active. Correct?
