Arrow Way to sync files from Andoid to PC?

I'm trying to find a way to sync a folder between my Android devices and my computers. I've tried a few programs already (Dropbox, Awesome Drop, PCFileSync), but they don't exactly fit my needs. SugarSync kinda works, but I wanted to try to find alternatives before I go through a lot of setup on all my devices.

Primarily, I'd like to sync a folder on my Android devices (a Droid, a Nook Color, and a Xoom) between each other and my computers. Either my desktop and laptop, or my Windows Home Server. I'm using AllwaySync to sync folders between my Windows computers and the server.

I'd like the files actually copied to the SD card (or local memory for the Xoom) instead of needing a network connection, so Dropbox is out. Want to sync back to the computers, so Awesome Drop is a no-go. Couldn't get PCFileSync to work.
SugarSync does work, but each device creates it's own sync folder in the briefcase. I can handle that with Allwaysync on the Home Server, but looking for alternatives before I go through all that. Also, I have to go into the program, navigate to the folder, and tell it to sync. Would like auto-sync, or at least a nice widget button to make it sync. And finally, some of the SugarSync reviews have been negative.

So is there something for Android syncing for me? If it's something to pay for (like $5 a month), I don't mind.

Is it 'out' because you don't like it, or is it 'out' because you're out of range of any networks for prolonged periods of time?

One of the devices is a Nook Color (rooted), which is only Wi-fi. So if I'm not at home, McDonalds, or StarBucks, I'm stuck (not as many open Wi-fi spots around here.)
Plus, I'd like to still have access to my files if I'm on an airplane, or visiting relatives overseas on whatever device I choose to bring. And I feel more comfortable with the files on the card, ready to load.

If you need to change these files often I can see your problem. If you don't need to change them often I would simply park copies of them on my SDcard, and maybe refresh 'm periodically (via Bluetooth, WiFi, or USB tethering; whichever is convenient and available).

You could probably set up Tasker to sync (= copy) those files everytime your phone gets within Bluetooth range of your PC for instance.
