I would love, love, love, somebody to develop an App for Telegraph Fantasy Football here in the UK. You just can't do simple things like transfers on your Android phone and this App would make such a difference to me, it's untrue!!

I'm sure there would be a huge take-up too, as the competiton has well over 250,000 entries each season. I'm sure it could make someone a tidy sum if priced up appropriately.

Thanks

Something like ShopSavvy would be nice to scan items and upload them to a Wish List that can be shared with others. Would be useful for birthdays, anniversaries, baby registry, etc. ShopSavvy can create a wishlist, but only locally on the phone.

Here's a simple one... But I want it so bad!
An app that allows the default home screen to rotate, without resorting to a home screen replacement.
I like HTC sense UI (I know I'm not the only one), I want my home screen to go into landscape mode when I mount it in my car (again, I know I'm not the only one). But sense (as well as every other default home screen that I know of) doesn't allow this by default unless it's a phone with a slide out keyboard.

Default Bluetooth SMS agent

I like how the PDAnet SMS agent works, but i dont like having to connect a cable and having the phone charing all day as i use it. I would like to see a SMS client (Phone to PC) using the bluetooth connection. and not one like Easysms or remoteSMS where u have to launch so many things to make a connection. Just want clean and simple like the PDAnet sms agent but via bluetooth not USB cable.

I contacted PDAnet and they said they do not support it now but see how it would be useful and will look into it. I got my fingers crossed an app is on its way from somewhere, ill deff buy it.

A thought that crossed my mind. A 'convoy' app - for driving in convoy, to keep track of relative positions of other drivers in the convoy, and allow for 'standard' signals, like 'I need to stop soon' or 'traffic jam ahead' or 'left at next junction'.

Also, a 'route finding' catchup with other drivers, so you can see how far ahead/behind everyone is.

I do fully agrre for a good PC Quicken sync. Mint is too limited and is a NOGO for Europe.

This missing app in Android (along with a good MS Exchange integration) is stopping me for migrating from the good old WM6!!

I'm trying to locate a suggestions thread, guess this is the closest I can find...

I'd like an ICE app like the below:

An 'ICE' one - but not one that allows access to the dialer. Simply a button on the unlock pattern screen which when someone presses it, gives basic health information/stats [like blood type, and a paragraph of known health issue or something]. So that nothing unlocks, people don't need to unlock it, so doesn't require knowledge of the pattern. Doesn't allow access to the dialer. Simply a 'if I can't talk I can poke and show you' button.

I'd suggest you contact the dev of the ICE app for that option. You might never know, he/she might like it and incorporate it into the app

Sad Desperately Needed App.

I love my android phones first my Hero and now my Evo. I must turn on and use my phone at least 50+ times a day every day. So to use an Unlock Pattern every time is just simply unacceptable.

It's when I leave the house and put the phone in my pocket it misbehaves terribly. It's like a child with no parental control.

Both the Hero and Evo will make calls at random even run programs and go into settings and make changes. My phone has moved my icons on it's own, today the final straw I reached for my phone and couldn't recognize the screen (there were 4 little Droids dancing at the bottom and very small fine lines of strange boot options in the top left corner).

Most of the time when I ride my motorcycle the phone goes into severe shock (and I ride a quiet smooth BMW bike). The Evo becomes totally unresponsive to touch. I can't even answer a call when it rings.

All this because it turns itself on in my pocket. If I use the Locking Pattern all is fine.

The answer is really simple:

GIVE US A SIMPLE BUTTON ON THE HOME SCREEN THAT ACTIVATES AND DIS-ACTIVATES THE UNLOCK PATTERN

Please I beg you, somebody, anybody hear my plea and help us civilize our phones.

2 things:

1st- This is probably the ONLY reason that I miss my Samsung Moment. You not only had to SLIDE to unlock, but you also had to SLIDE to answer a call! Being able to change the ring screen from just a button to a slider... Now THAT is an app that I would LOVE to see!

2nd- In response to your request "A SIMPLE BUTTON ON THE HOME SCREEN THAT ACTIVATES AND DIS-ACTIVATES THE UNLOCK PATTERN" check out one of those lock screen removing apps (can't remember the names of any off the top of my head). The one I tried, and dumped, disabled the lock screen AND the lock pattern when it was enabled. I didn't like that feature, but it sounds like it's exactly what you are looking for!

Just keep the lock pattern enabled at all times, and then toggle the app that skips the lock screen whenever you want

Edit: the app was either 'no lock' or 'keyguard disabler'
I think they may be the exact same thing, except for the price, and the ease of toggling.

I was thinking of an App that would allow Air Plane Mode that would still allow Bluetooth functionality. There is no Application on either the Itunes Market or the Android Market! That way if your wanting to listen to your bluetooth headphones and have no cell service you dont have to waste your battery searching for service. I would use this app for my bluetooth helmet for my music.

I'd like to see an app that would allow me to use Swype in portrait and go to the default keyboard while in landscape. The main reason for this would be to allow me to use the voice to type feature (or whatever its called), while still having Swype close at hand.

That is a GREAT idea!

I would also settle for swype adding a voice button. But I would rather have it your way.

Question photo apps

1 - an app that allows photo resizing in batch and various sizes to choose from.
picsaypro does allow resize but NOT in batch and only 3 sizes.

2 - an that lets you add captions to your photos so that they show when uploaded to facebook or picasa etc.
NOT just when u go to upload it to facebook.

I would love to have the power control bar in the status bar pull down, much like the Galaxy S phones have. I can post a pic if anyone is interested.

Would pay for this.

SlideIt has a voice button built in, FYI.

An app that can drop a series of waypoints, then navigate you back to these waypoints later, bonus if it only uses speech. (Drop Waypoint - Store / Navigate to Waypoint - Store ) Google Nav doesn't work on college campuses.

PIM - Personal Information Manager, what "smartphones" where soposed to be, what they used to be, what Android needs to become.

As I have posted before, I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH, the 3 most important features of any PIM device is:

1. UNIVERSAL SEARCH
Search of the entire phone (not the internet), search through all your personal data, thru the contacts, notes, calendar, spreadsheets, memos, to-do lists, word processing files, SMS/MMS, thru every native apps, thru every 3rd party app data, anything and everything on your phone (not the internet) quickly and completely the way Palm OS did. Fast information retrieval of your personal data and databases is the most important and single most useful thing on this planet as far as PIM’s are concerned. Not links to twitter, not cool little icon creation tools, not fun cutesy little play things, but real world useful things.

2. UNIVERSAL CUT/COPY & PASTE
The ability to copy an address or sentence out of a text message or email, (not the entire message, only the portion you need) and paste it into a contact, or paste it into a memo or task field, or it into Google maps. Or Copy part of a to-do list item and paste it into a spreadsheet, or copy a value out of a spreadsheet cell and paste it into an email etc.

3. DESKTOP APPLICATION to sync with.
A desktop application to sync with, to back up all your PIM information (contacts, calendar, to-do lists, memos, wordprocessing files, spreadsheet files etc, to your PC and vice/versa (without being forced to use Outlook). Not syncing to “the cloud”, I don’t want all my personal info spread out all over the internet for who knows who to snoop through. I want my personal info on my phone and my desktop PC only. A Desktop application to be able to do the bulk of your data entry from your PC then syncing it to your phone instead of having to type out and tons of personal data, such as useful formulas, extensive notes about people, long letters or ebooks you want to cut and paste into your desktop app so you can sync it to your phone so you can read it on the road at your leasure without trying to type all that data into your little touch screen pad. To be able to look up information and data stored on my phone without not having to wait on a slow connection as it stores and retrieves from the cloud. And to be able to look up the same information on my desktop app when I can’t find my phone. To backup my data or retrieve it without being dependant an internet connection. When I lose my old phone, I want to be able to sync the new phone to my Desktop application had have all my personal info and data files loaded on to my new phone putting me right back in business without skipping a beat.

Primary PIM Apps to be fully intergreated with each other on the phone and on the Desktop are:
* Calendar/Scheduler/with very flexible alarms (i.e. repeat every third Thursday etc.). Should have Day/Week/Month/Year views.
* Contacts/Addresses/People that will show the long names on the screen when you select it.
* To Do List (KISS applies here, just need to easily slide line items up and down on the priority list and/or give it a changeable priority level, and to be able to attach longer notes if need be)
* Memo/Notes/Flash Cards to store anything and everything you think to write down to take note down, any thought, idea, note, comment, list of items, what someone said – Any and all inputs instantly retrievable by the “Universal Search”.
* Media/Pictures/Video/Music sync between desktop and device.
* Third party attachment handler (to automatically sync spreadsheet files for instance).

Store, Retrieve, and Manage/Manipulate Personal Information, that’s what Personal Information Managers (PIMs) are for. Not for doing animated gifs or other cutesy time wasters.

This is something the Twit(ers) writing software today don’t understand, not everyone has the luxury of laying around drinking soda pop and twittering each other all day, most of us need to actually get some work done in the real world. To manage and access personal information as well as internet info.

I would have switched from Palm OS to iPhone a couple years ago but the iPhone had no universal search or universal copy/paste at the time which made the iPhone worthless game machine to me. So I stayed with Palm. Now that Palm OS is being replaced with WebOS, I see now that the “new blood” writing the new Palm WebOS software left out the 3 most important things, the very things that made Palm great to begin with. So I bought a Droid Incredible, it falls flat on it’s face as a PIM, now I am back to carrying two devices a Palm OS for an actual working PIM, and a Droid for all the other “cool” stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Droid but it would be nice to get them back into one device again. The industry sometimes goes backwards instead of forwards. Now I see that Apple finally caught up to Palm by including a universal search and copy/paste into the iPhone finally, Android needs to catch up to Palm OS also, in a hurry, otherwise I may have to sidestep to an iphone when my one year contract is up.

PalmOS had a much more precise touch screen, all you had to do to select text was touch your fingernail, pen, or stylist to the letter you wanted to start with and drag to the end point to highlight the text you want, and then hit Menu/Copy. The new Johnny-come-lately touch screen phones do not have a precise way to select text directly, though the iPhone has come up with a good workaround for this, it’s not quite as fast and easy as the PalmOS but just as accurate at selecting only what you want, and it is universal just like the Palm.

If and when iambic ports Agendus to the Android OS it will be a great day for Android users, but we still need universal search & copy/paste across all apps. When I was a palm user I didn’t see the need for Agendus (a very robust PIM) because it seemed redundant on the Palm, but I could see the need for it on other platforms such as Windows devices, iPhone, BlackBerry etc. Now that I am a Droid user I see the need for Agendus for the Android. Agendus is starting to sound like a great Idea, a robust PIM application that can be ported to any new phone platform that comes out, that way you learn one app and keep it with you across platforms as the phone market keeps changing.

An app for the Sun (newspaper) Dreamteam or Fantasy football is another name for it.
There is an app for the iPhone, dont know why they not made one for android since its growing faster than iOS now.

I would pay for an App that does screenshots for un-rooted phones, if anyone is listening.
Thanks

This might sound a lil strange, but I'd like an app that calls or texts me to see how I'm doing every so often. Maybe it could be sorta like a girlfriend app and text or call to see what movie I wanna watch, get mad n not talk to me for a few days until I miss 'her' and apologize, remind me to take care of some hygiene issues. Maybe this app could even be linked to a Tamagotchi sorta app and we take turns taking care of the tamagotchi and get into arguments because sometimes we disagree on how to discipline our 'kid'. The app could easily be updated with new scenarios and hopefully automatically personalized to how you respond. If I ever get a real girlfriend, this app could start making my girlfriend jealous, not enough to make the real one leave, but so she is more affectionate to me... Let's face it, not everyone with a smartphone has a life.

I've heard that ShootMe works for unrooted phones even though it says it doesn't.

I'd love a standalone audio equalizer!

My Incredible has T9 input when used upright. Came on the phone, not a downloaded app.

I haven't tried it, but it looks like this keyboard http://androidforums.com/application-announcements/81467-ultra-keyboard-4-0-a.html does T9.

Hi, I use Xperia X10, which supports Android 1.6
It supports ADW Launcher (donut version), and the recent version update received yesterday was v1.1.3
I do not see the 7 screens anymore. Is there anyone who is aware here how and where to enable or is it something where ADW has removed the 7 screens and replaced with 5. I have only 5 screens.
Please help.

Besides, is there any other apps like Fancy Widget (they have stopped in Market now), which has a big digi clock with weather in middle.

Scanner radio free in the market. Has alot of police and fire. It's streamed from internet so it's got few seconds delay. My home town doesn't broadcast to the net but the city I work at does and so does the county.

If there is one out there somewhere, please steer me in the right direction.
I couldn't find one either, and I miss Chemicalc (PalmOS app) desperately! It's such a pain not to be able to quickly recalculate if I can't find the exact hydration state called for by a recipe.

If I ever get an answer on my application for the App Inventor beta, that's the first thing I'm going to try to make...

I looked in the market and can't find this:

A widget that looks like a trash can - when you drag an app's icon to it, it uninstalls that app.

Several home replacement apps, such as launcher pro, do this.

Doh!

Those always slow my phone down eventually, so I don't use them. Any way to do it on the stock launcher?
