Tracking Your Teen App! :-)
My son thinks that the universe is his just because he has a phone, so like any other teenager, he comes and goes without saying a word. If I want to know where he is, I have to call him. I know he knows that he is to come home how he left. A single childless teen without misdemeanors or felonies. Not interested in tracking is father since we're not together, but if this get's made and someone uses it for that purpose, more power.
I would just like to see a totally free WORKING Teen Tracker that uses realtime GPS, and every text sent or incoming phone call lets you know where they are. Something tells me that my son might want to go where I told him not to go, call me and tell me he's in one place when his phone can send me a truthful answer that he is located in another place. I would also like to quietly back up his contacts named and un-named so in the event he does not call and I want to know where the heck he is, I can pull up his list of contacts and CALL THEM! This must work on all droid phones in the event he shows me that he is worthy of one.
one idea i have been pondering was a way to port the ics task manager/switcher to non ics roms. i am not really a fan of task managers/killers, but the ics one is beautiful and functional. because as much as i dont like to kill apps, sometime apps hang and need to be killed. non ics roms just have a task switcher whenh you hold the home button, and you would have to open a seperate app to kill any app. there should be a way to make an ics style task manager/killer/switcher clone and bind it to the home longpress for older non ics roms!
I can never remember if my XYZ app is named A1XYZ, MyXYZ or XYZ. I want an app that searches all of my installed apps by keyword. I don't know if Android stores metadata with the installed apps, or if this app would need to read the Marketplace ("play") to get search words.
I had this on my N900 and it really helped when wanted an App I knew I had, but couldn't remember the name.
An app that works kinda like www(.)fanfiction(.)net just with original stories .... so people can share and read them online trough an app a name could be something like Authors Guild or Novel Share.

App for HTC Chacha : extra dictionaries for original hardware keyboard
It would be great if somebody could tell me where i can find or make this himself : A dictionary, Dutch, for Chacha original Hardware keyboard.
Now i always get underlined text in my messages because the Dutch dictionary is not loaded / available.
An app that let's you to report ufo Route, According to the location to send E-mail to other user. When you see ufo,You can be used 'itisufo' to estimate ufo path and ,server. Send an e-mail to the other user in UFO's Will get to that place, So that they are prepared to observation. The app Called "itisufo" in amazon.
I would like to see an app that allows the syncing of multiple apps' data across multiple devices.
Examples:
When I finish reading tweets on twicca on my phone, I can carry on from the last read position on my tablet and vice versa. This would mean you don't miss anything when you go from one device to another.
Game progress, so that when I reach level X on my tablet, I can carry on from there on my phone and vice versa.
Some apps have this, but I would like one that could cater for all apps. This would make owning multiple devices a much better and seamless experience.
I've been looking through barcode scanner apps, and it doesn't seem that there are any that log GPS coordinates when scanned while also offering the ability to create a report with date/time/location the barcode was scanned. Preferably, the format of the report would be something difficult to edit.
I'm looking for a way to stop paying Detex for their pricey watchclock services.
A App Idea I have is a Music Visualizer Widget.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who devotes one screen to music. I was trying to find a music visualizer widget, so I can still have a background of my choosing. Did I miss a widget like this? If not, can someone work on one? I would do so, but I'm having trouble downloading the files to even start making a app.

A true HTML READERS BROWSER
What I'm envisioning is a browser with fixed buttons in the menu bar -- where the search box is currently -- dedicated to precise vertical page navigation:
PGDN
PGUP
END
HOME
This is for those of us who are frustrated with the crude vertical scrolling that a finger swipe condemns us to, endlessly swiping, swiping . . . just to position the next block of text to be read. It's a misery to read lengthy news articles (as just one example), and it's murder on the eyes constantly positioning these HTML pages!
cd
EDIT: This is obviously geared towards us tablet owners.

I'd like to see an app that checks the schedules of major sports teams and allows me to search for specific teams and games they may be playing within a certain mile radius from where I am that can be used to add the events to my calendar, or possibly just creates a calendar of those events, instead of having to search all the schedules manually on teams' websites and keeping track of who is coming to town when.
you type a question into google, say "is the sears tower taller than the empire state building?"
it comes back with the normal search results, and then scans/interprets them and gives you a simple "yes" or "no".
basically you don't have to search a bunch of results to get your answer. i know it may not always be right, but i think it would be at least worth exploring.
I would love an app that can track events in terms of when they take place and how often they have taken place in a format that is "easy on the eyes". In other words, easy to read.
Some examples of events I mean would be the following:
Migraine headaches
Eating out at a restaurant
Getting your car serviced
Checking ones blood pressure
Those are some broad examples but I think an app like that could be very useful for a lot of people. An app I use called Days Left is in a format I think could work great in that it has widgets that, for an app like I'm looking for, could have a small widget for each event your tracking. The widget would show the date of the last event and when you click on the widget it would open a database showing the dates and maybe a running count of each instance that event occurred.
If only I knew how to build apps I'd do it myself. ;-)
This is an app I have actually need of or something like it for a costume I'm working on. I have been looking for months now all over and all I can find is either a in call voice changer or a record your voice then alter it for playback. What I am looking for is something that will alter my voice in real time. The only thing I have seen that actually does it is the standard "D vader" helm or something like it. Well Im looking for something more deep and god like.
What my idea is since there is a fair amount of processing to get things they way you want, and a phone is sort of limiting in that capacity my idea is a 2 part deal. I figured you could set up some voice effect settings off of another program (say audacity) and essentially export those settings to the app. That way the phone app only has to worry about the 1 setting. Hopefully it will be fast enough that there is little to no time lag. Though in a god like voice having that tiny delay could seem like a vocal reverb and add to the effect.
If anyone has seen anything like this please let me know because I havent seen anything yet. (well there was one a few years ago but it got discontinued and is long gone, though youtube vids still exist) In any case if you look up "dota outworld destroyer" on youtube you will see the voice effect that I am hoping an app could get close to.

There's a App Suggestion sticky in the Android Apps section of our forums. I have a feeling your post may get merged into that thread at any moment. LOL

That would be cool! Probably though root would be needed..
There are many picture slide show apps but I have yet to find/ see one that allows you to display the IPTC file data (like caption and location) at the bottom of each it auto scrolls through the pictures. That way I wouldnt have to explain what my pictures are of!
There needs to be a price watch app. You can select apps and monitor the price of them and set alerts for when they drop to a price you want to purchase it at.
I want an app that converts pictures to show the same picture in a cross stitch design, do you know what i mean?
Small coloured rectangles, i don't really know how to describe it.
so you just print it out, then use for stitching and otherwise....
I think you mean a collage? PicsArt will do that. And it's free.
I just wish someone would make a decent movie maker app to compete with iMovie which my son can use on his iPhone 4s. Currently there is nothing out there that looks appealing or compatible.

Sounds Changer
I would like an app that can change your system sounds, like lock and unlock screen, you can do this with go locker but you have to change the lock screen and install more useless apps. Anyways things like boot sounds, dial pad, key presses, battery sounds, usb connection, etc you get the point lol.
If anyone is working on something like that and needs a tester or wants to start making one shoot me a PM, ill be glad to donate or help.
Edit: Found it thought its not an app, you need root access. Go to this path /system/media/audio/ui all files that you change out have to be in .ogg format and have the name of the operation that you want it to do. XD

Anyone know of a punnett square app for Droid? If not any in the programming?
This seems basic enough that it might be a good exercise for someone who's just getting into Android development. Is there anything in particular you would want to see in an app like this aside from just "plug in values and solve"?
a real language translator.... not like gtranslate and other app like spanish dic that could only translate sentences word per word... it makes you a total idee-ot using those kinds of app... >_<
Apparently a lot of Android apps create a whole bunch of cache files which add up over time, slowing down the phone. 1-click cleaner is an easy, quick and effective way to recover some memory. Without any need for rooting, the app cleans cache files, SMS, browsing history, calling records and SD card files to free up more space for your smartphone.
Havent been able to find this anywhere. But I would like to have an app just like FX file or Astro to access the server at the company I work for. I currently have FX File and it works great when I am at the office using wifi, but when I am on a jobsite the only way to access it is by going to our remote access webpage via the web browser.
I sometimes write songs so an app that automatically gives a variety of music on my lyrics would be very helpful. Like 4 different types of melodies that I can choose from to use alongside the lyrics I have written! Dictating the lyrics on my device then the app literally gives me the melodies instantaneously, haha! Talking about doing 70% of my task huh!
1 - an app that allows photo resizing in batch and various sizes to choose from.
picsaypro does allow resize but NOT in batch and only 3 sizes.
2 - an that lets you add captions to your photos so that they show when uploaded to facebook or picasa etc.
NOT just when u go to upload it to facebook.
I think this is a nice suggestion, hope someone could create this.
Okay... so a music player tightly integrated with Facebook. If the user wants to post something like
Hey I am listening to this and that song, by this and that artist
and the album art is also displayed with the message... just like the photo when you post a youtube video on Facebook. In this case, the album art needs to be fetched by Gracenote.

I like this idea. You could use most any notes app or diary with TAGS. Tag = type of event.... Some will even record location data with the entry/tag (event). A quick select by tag... Lists all of that event in date order.. I keep track of calf births, etc on my farm like that..
I guess you wouldn't have summary counts or frequencies.. Still.
Too many suggestions here fall under neat uses of sensors etc.
One overlooked function of our pocket PC's (yeah folks, it's not just a phone)
is data collection, storage, reporting. A sort of personal memory bank. More of those useful types of things are needed.

Reason: More to say
As a seamstress, (and knowing many others), we love the apps for Joanns and other coupon and crafting help. One that is desperately needed is one for sewing patterns. Seamstresses buy so many patterns that we lose track of what we have or want. I am hoping someone can help us with that! I have one for my books and DVD's but I have 5 times more patterns than both books and DVDs put together!
I've seen websites that sell digital files of various types of patterns. (you print them as needed)
Why not use phone to scan in the picture on the pattern package, save them to EVERNOTE (a free app) add some tags (type of pattern, dress, blouse, etc)... You can then search for 'dress' patterns etc.
Would work great..

Synchronizing sports scores
Imagine a school sports day, with many events taking place simultaneously. I would like a master scoreboard, i.e. a large screen TV fed by an android tablet with HDMI, showing a slide-show of the scores for each event. This would be viewed by the commentator, spectators, staff and pupils. The scores would be updated in real time by scorers at each event equipped with Android phones, synchronising over 3g. I know there are task-management apps, such as Wunderlist, which could do something similar, but I need something more viewer friendly, with absolutely no interaction required from the viewer to see all the scores.
This just came to me, but have any of you used GoLauncher? In the home screen, pressing the menu button brings up a 3 page selection system. I'd like to see that for apps, only it would be accessable in any window.
Say for example, you're an avid Facebook surfer. You would add a shortcut to facebook on your menu selection. If you are addicted to a game, add it. Have multiple browsers for different tasks? Put them on there too.
