I don't know if it exists, but I habent found anything like what I need. All I need is an agenda widget where I can upload a custom icon next to my agendas. All I use my agenda widget for is when my new comics come in and it'd be super rad if I could have a batman logo next to my "April 11 Barman #15" maybe a flash logo next to when that comes in too. Its simple and it'd definitely make me the happiest nerd. I'm just tired of the same little red color tab. A little customization is all I ask for.

Hey guys I NEED AN APP for mid January. I did a proposal on my science class and it was about comparing applications. I stated that I were gonna get people to build an app about 3d animation (Like 3ds max, Maya, and blender) that can be easy for kids to use. I have till Mid January to get it done, at least a beta version. Problem is I don't know anything about programing, so I cant do it alone.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT? I REALLY NEED THAT A IF I WANNA GRADUATE.

If anyone can help me, send me a message.

Default Water track to Ocean

I would like to find an app the uses my current (or any selected) location to both trace and provide a list of waterways that are the most direct drainage to an ocean or salt water.

e.g., I'm on a ridge in Montana and spill some water on one side of the ridgeline. Will that water eventually work its way down several named or un-named creeks etc. to the Snake River, Columbia River, Pacific Ocean, or to the Missouri, Mississippi, Gulf of Mexico?

A trace on Google Earth/Maps and a list of named/[un-named] waterways enroute would be fabulous.

A "Simple Address Book" that is not connected to the existing contacts list in Android system.

I have about 2,000 contacts that are for history and reference. I want to keep and refer to these contacts but I do not want these contacts in my everyday Android contact list.

If you know this application exists please let me know ! I have been looking and I cannot find one in the Google play store. I have read some programming books, but I think this is out of my league for developing this program myself.

Thank You Mag

I would love a Soccer/Football app. An idea could be

Different tabs at the bottom of the screen
1st tab should be live scores (when you have chosen your favourite teams) and Fixtures
2nd) League tables, and you should be able to change the league for example if English Premier League is showing up, you should be able to change it to La Liga( Spanish League)
3rd tab) News, this is very important. News should be displayed along with a flag of the country, for example if the news is from La Liga, the flag should be Spanish
4th tab) Should be Today/Results. Here you should display results from the matches today and yesterday so if someone missed a match they can check it there.

Your views?

I was thinking about the application which works as a personal coach! Like you are setting you goals, and it helps you achieve these goals.

Default I need this app...

hi, I've been looking for an app to lock settings within an app but without locking the app itself....for example an app that enables you to require a password to change any options or settings ( such as delete call log entry) but doesn't require a password to open the call log itself

Protecting call log, sms logs, anti-theft apps, web browser, contacts, the list of apps with settings people would want to protect goes on

Who would use it you ask?
Parents with teenagers, people who have little kids that play on their phone and might accidently delete something important, roommates who loan their phone, etc.

I have been searching for an app like this for like 2 years and haven't found anything of the sort!!!!

I think lots of people would find this useful, I know I sure
would

How would you go about that?

I'm looking to build my next Android app.

Right now I'm going through the thread to find a good idea, looking at the flashlight idea at the moment but looking for more.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I'm actively looking for a good app idea so if you think nobody reads this.. they do!

Default Great App Idea!!!

How about having multiple unlock patterns for the pattern unlock? where you could have an S to unlock the phone, and also have a C pattern to open the camera? People who use pattern unlock in my opinion, would use it.

Could you try and build the app i have just posted a suggestion for? It uses the pattern unlock and allows multiple different patterns but each opening a different application or unlocking phone. Please keep me updated. I would use this app everyday!!

Default wifi app

Is there an app that automatically turn on/off wifi calling when I am connected/unconnected to a certain wifi ssid.

For example, I want to use wifi calling in my home but when I leave my home wifi network then wifi calling is automatically turned off.

Right now I am playing this game of turning on and off wifi and/or wifi calling when I leave and then turning it back on when I get home. Rinse/repeat several times a day. If I forget to turn off wifi calling I invariably end up connected to some crappy public wifi somewhere and it ends up screwing up my calling. Or I forget to turn wifi calling on when I get home and get just awful reception at home.

I cannot believe that this is not somehow already a setting/app frankly. If so I apologize in advance but I cannot seem to find it.

Default Repurpose old phones

We have a couple of HTC Eris phones we no longer use. I would like to use the wifi and camera functions to send live video to other computers in the house without activating the telephone part of the phone. I would also like to use some of the other functions. The phones are rooted. It would be nice to put them to use instead of collecting dust.

Is there an app that will track how many times certain apps are used? Like an app counter? Every time I search 'app counter' all I get is hits for apps that count usage data. I'm looking for one that shows how many times certain apps are opened, over user-definable times (each day, per week, monthly, etc) and how long those apps are open for.

Some kind of "Games Folder" application. I have a lot more than 16 games and don't want to create multiple "games" folders on my home screen, so it would be nice to have an application where you could launch to different games you have installed on your device.

I'm pretty new at this android thing, and I'm an absolute virgin on the whole "reading several hundred posts" thing. Odds are I'll bring up an idea that's already in the store or in this thread.

Thermometer- I highly doubt this is possible but it would be interesting to have a thermometer app to go with the 9,000 weather apps. After all, the freaking thing already took my pulse. I'm sure it can handle room temperature at some point.

Google Fantasy Play- Forget that stupid Yahoo app and design the mobilest friendliest fantasy football app for android users only. Nobody would have an excuse to miss the draft. Two separate text notifications should be assigned; one to notify for every 10 points you score, another to notify for every 10 points they score. Shoot, partner up with NFL.com for their swift drafting interface.

Baseball America, Baseball Prospectus or Fangraphs- I've been using Dolphin for these all the time as mobile versions. The app could come with a drop down menu to bring up the last news for players of your choosing. Maybe they'll work together for a change and I will cut hair!

Cool For enthusiast developers-weight loss game

Hi everyone,
I have an idea of a simple game. However I don't know many application developers so I decided to post it here. Hopefully you will embrace it as well and one of you can bring it to life
Here it is:
This app is to track one's eating habits. It is intended to have a simple interface consisting of two buttons: one green, one red. The user pushes the GREEN button when they are eating because they're genuinely hungry (yeah but what if someone is "hungry"?...like what if I think I am hungry but unbeknownst to me it's just boredom...something to think about). The user pushes the RED button when they are eating not because of hunger, but because they're emotional, bored, are in a social environment where they might not be hungry, but they eat because everyone else is, etc.

The total number of clicks is to total 100% and GREEN and RED clicks shall be tracked on a chart that can be posted socially in order to be compete with friends. Other statistics that should be tacked include, but are not limited to: total number of clicks (daily, monthly, annually).

The goal in the end is to have more GREEN clicks than RED clicks.

Thanks for reading it. You are welcome to bring suggestions to make it better and more useful.

Default invoicing app

Im sure this isn't the most exciting app idea but I have been looking for a good SIMPLE invoicing app to use with quickbooks. None of the ones out there work for what I need. I need to be able to import my customers and products and let a customer sign the invoice and then print and then import back into quickbooks. other apps want you to email the invoice to a customer, or the customer cant physically sign it, pricing levels don't work well... We had an employee that built us a nice program for windows mobile (I think 6.2) but refuses to deal with android. I want my employees to be able to invoice customers from the phones we supply them with. If anyone would be interested in working with me on this please contact me. I hope I posted this in the right section and am not abusing anything.
Thanks!

Default Data Plan Per Hour(Not per MB)

Hi. I wan't to share an idea of an app about mobile data.

What if your data plan is 20 hours per month? 100 Hours per month? And you don't have the time to record manually your mobile data usage?

This is basically how it will work.
A)Set how many hours is your plan per month

B)Set a lock period. This will work for some plans that have lock period, e.g., 30 minutes lock down period. Means when I connect to 3g, even I only used it for 29 minutes or less, it will still count as 30 minutes.

C)Of course it will notify you or automatically disconnect to mobile internet.

D)Set monthly billing.

E)Additional - For some people with prepaids. Set how many hours per week or per day.

ok... just thought of this. It would be a combination fo an andorid app and desktop computer app probably. The goal is to have it automate the backup and backing up of backups process. Maybe it would have to be integrated into recovery and autostarting with the phone. So you just do a 1-click... hit "backup" and it automatically does a nandroid, and copies it to your computer (via usb, or to the cloud via wifi, preferably the former for me), and also creates an image of your sdcard on your computer, or you can select which folders to backup. So you just hook up your phone to your computer via usb, open up the software on your computer and hit go, and it automatically reboots your phone into recovery and makes a nandroid, then reboots it normally or into fastboot mode and pulls the nandroid to your computer, and also pulls, whatever folders you have selected to backup from your sdcard, possibly in a "delta" fashion, so as to keep a single backup on your laptop and only to update it. Then when its done, you'll be ready to flash a rom, or just go on about your business.

of course, it could also be taken one step further by auto-flashing a rom/gapps, and restoring apps/data etc... that would be awesome... 1-click auto-double-backup + rom flash and restore.

Your views?

I'll bet the YouTube app might be pretty good for that.

Has anyone suggested an app that can tap into the phone's mic and confirm that none of the audio from the headphones is audible to the phone's mic?

If this was possible then you could 'auto-limit' the volume of a device to make sure you aren't being an arse/talking too loud in public? Indeed it would also help catch people on the other end talking too loud/ensure a private phone call!

It wouldn't need to stay running, it would just be nice to have it run like once a minute?

Heck even just a 'volume check' app that plays a custom set of tones at a range of frequencies while recording the mic and checking that it cannot detect any of the tones would be sufficient!

Lets hear them!

I'd love an Android application that could allow you to use your phone as a remote control to change television stations. That would be SIIIIICK. Problem would be if you can go into someone else's house and change THEIR stations.

I think the "receiver" would need to be bluetooth enabled since I don't see phones being able to send infrared signals anytime soon. I guess the key here is actually having a RECEIVER that has the technology. The application is probably the easy part.

How cool would it be if you could use your phone to take video that automatically streams - and is saved to - your account on a website? People could browse by users, locations, etc... and see who is currently "phonecasting" video and watch them live.

This could be crazy if people take their phones into sporting events, concerts, etc... and you can browse streams by location... you could potentially pinpoint events going on and see video streams from people filming at the event with their phone.

Pretty crazy if you ask me. And very doable.

So you're walking along... but wouldn't mind hopping on a bus, catching a metro, jumping in a cab, etc... what is the QUICKEST or CHEAPEST way from point A to B?

This app would list all your options with distance, time, price and more. Supposing you select "bus" it would then help you navigate to the closest bus stop. It might also alert you to where the closest cab is or even connect you directly to a cab company who would instantly come to the GPS location referred to them.

When you buy something, you scan the receipt and can manage your expenses and accounting OH so easily. You'd also have permanent records if the IRS comes knocking on the door.

As you're on your trip you take pictures, type using a full qwerty keyboard, etc... and a LIVE journal is kept with features such as GPS location, time of input, etc to create a more dynamic "live journal"

Actually this just sounds like posting to wordpress from your phone with your location auto-filled via GPS hahahaha not really that exciting.
Finally! Lol thanks. Everybody was getting all their complicated questions answered and all I had was a yes or no question lol

Hola All,
I work in the IT field probably like most of you, just assuming lol. I am trying to solve an Issue with in our Department that will: Goal: to stream line our inventory tracking, delivery, and returning process, through a single searchable data base, from any tablet or phone from a scan able pre-existing bar code.
Streamline process
Run from any Android phone
Make it user friendly
Simple
User involved
Automated Emails
Virtual Receipt
Create a visually appealing app

Now I have little programming experience, I have been hitting up the youtubes and javas hard, but alas any help would be greatly appreciated. I have installed the App Dev kit, got the first basic "hello world" out there that we are all familiar with. But getting the Camera to scan and recognize bar codes is a B. Any-who thanks for the read if ya got anything message me or reply. Domo!
