Default calendar alert

My calendar is working fine. My problem is that the alerts aren't very attention getting. When I am busy doing ,whatever, the small one second alert doesn't do it for me. Every other phone I've had ,even the free ones, alow you to set it to alarm. Is there something that I'm missing?

Like most programs, the calendar app has a settings preference.

Calendar -> Menu -> More -> Settings -> set alerts & Notifications

Also a "Select Ringtone" option

Yea, Ive been there and tried most of the "ringtones." The problem is that they only play once.

Download Ring Droid and you can create your own alert ringtone of any length (although I'm sure there's a limit).

I've got a steam engine whistle on mine that blows for about 5 seconds.

However, even the longer alert still plays only once. Not useful if the phone is downstairs and you are upstairs.

Also, it would be nice to have duration for snooze option (like the palm did) rather than always snoozing for 5 minutes.

And would be nice to be able to snooze/dismiss alarms without having to unlock phone.

Boy I hear ya on that one. I just don't get why you can get a reminder alarm 5 minutes before the event, but no alarm at the time of the event. THAT just doesn't make any sense to me.

Perhaps one of the other calendar apps will allow more than one cycle.
