1/20- Undecided about this one. It allows you to show photos and videos directly from your tablet to your DLNA TV. It has 3 1/2 stars but it is skewed by 1 star ratings from people that said you needed to log in to FB. Others said you could skip that option. Others gave it a low rating because their tv is not compatible. If you have a DLNA tv (Amazon lists a bunch of brands) this looks like it should work fine, but I haven't tried it yet.

Is it me or does AmazonApps have some of the dumbest, most ignorant reviewers out there?

I haven't rated it yet, but I'd say 4.0. Picked up my Panasonic tv quickly, has played everything I've tried. Did not sign into Facebook and it works fine. You tube plays well. Old movie quality is low, to be expected. Doesn't play avi. Not as good as Roku, but not bad for free (or even $5 if you had to buy it). Whatever you were watching on tv starts right up after you play something else. If they add Amazon prime to it, it would be great!

That would be cool. I don't suppose there is an app that does that, either for Prime, Netfliz or Hulu.

2/7- This has got to be the best FAOTD to come down the runway in a long time, for those that fly.

2-11; This is a very unique game. If anyone knows if a similar one, please post that here. The character's name is Moon Boy and he walks in his sleep. It is a platformeresque game and you have to move things out of or in to his way to get him safely back to bed. Starts out slow and easy and gets more challenging as you go. You can speed him up or retrace his steps. The only downside is that it is 60.6MB.

I've had Tune In Radio Pro for a while from AFAOTD and... I guess I'm experiencing the first "catch" of getting it free. The thing doesn't stay on if I don't keep the app live. Furthermore the app keeps asking me to sign into amazon... NOT Cool. I deleted and started using the free one since I don't use the record feature really.

Can anyone tell me what yesterday's faotd was? I remember it was some kind of puzzle game and I saw a very good review on it, but my wonderfully forgetful brain forgot to grab it when I got home.

EDIT: Nvm, it was HUEBRIX (in case anyone's curious). For those of you with Twitter accounts, there's a profile on there with an impressive track record for updates, at least in the past month: https://twitter.com/AmazonAppADay

I hadn't checked out the App Store in a while, and when I did, it asked to upgrade. I did so, and found the new app to have a strangely buggy interface. Left-right scrolling just doesn't seem to pick up cleanly - which makes it hard to scroll through the lists of related apps.

Of course, I don't intend to spend any money on those related apps, so maybe their algorithms have figured out I'm a deadbeat, and are treating me accordingly.

Not too fond of the new updates either. Since I do not download the FAOTD very often, it really doesn't make much difference.

On my new HTC One, the Amazon App Store (downloaded from Amazon today) just doesn't work. I get a black screen with the 'Amazon Apps' logo in the top left and nothing else.

Anyone else get this and/or know a workaround please?

It always crashes my HTC sensation even when the app is not in use. Had to uninstall. Only problem with that, the apps from amazon will not work without it.

Actually over 1100 Play store reviews 4.6, seems very fast. One of the better deals in a year!

I tried connecting to my RDP and this seems better than whatever app I had been using before (I don't connect frequently).

Is anyone concerned about data protection? I know it uses encryption, etc. but using rdp is inherently susceptible to "man in the middle" attacks and passing the data through Google servers does not serve to reassure me. Would using this tool not only give you access to your desktop on your device but maybe also lay your pc contents open to others as well.

Just asking.

Also concerned about security after entering Google password. I seldom use something like this but I see could come in handy.

The previous tool that Amazon had for free, Pocket Cloud, uses the same Google Accounts access. I figure it's good enough to admin the broken-screen laptop that I use as my Google Cloud Print server. If the Russian Mafia is after you, you probably want to look into something more secure (and shell out more than ten bucks).

Pocket Cloud hasn't been reliable in connecting, so I'm hoping this one works better.

FWIW, Jump Desktop seems to work great. I could never get to my remote PC unless I was on my home network with Pocket Cloud, which kind of defeated the purpose. No problem with Jump.

Too bad the spam post got deleted, by the way. I was just wondering where I could find a nice length of hexagonal titanium bar. I was going to use it to beat up spammers.

5/24- Cut The Rope: Experiments-
Cut the Rope: Experiments
The follow-up to the award-winning mobile game Cut the Rope has arrived for Android! ZeptoLab's Cut the Rope: Experiments features the familiar and loveable little monster Om Nom who is discovered by a mad (but not bad) scientist determined to study his candy-loving behavior through a series of experiments.

Cut the ropes, release candy into Om Nom's mouth, collect shiny gold stars, and unlock new levels. Read the in-game hints to learn the basics of gameplay for each new level or get help on especially tough puzzles.

Join millions of people around the globe and help the Professor and Om Nom get through these wacky experiments!

Gameplay
Cut the Rope is a puzzle game with a simple premise: a little monster named Om Nom arrives on your doorstep in a box labeled "Feed with Candy." To satisfy Om Nom's sweet tooth, simply cut the rope--you'll find it's easier said than done when enemies and obstacles await you.

5/30: "Rebuild 2". Turn-based strategy game where you are the survivors of the Zombie Apocalypse, rebuilding your civilization (and defending against zombies). Adapted from a Flash game. It has a lot of good reviews, so I grabbed it. I like a braaaaaaainy game from time to time.

Can't find genius scan on either amazon or play. Do you have a link?

Found it. Play says it is not compatible with the Nexus 7. That is why the search did not find it.
