View Poll Results: Which one is the Best Instant Messenger?
KIK, Kakao, WhatsAPP, Liveprofile, Beluga or GroupMe?
Which one is the best?
I used all of them and I think Kakao is the best although I uninstalled it because of privacy reasons. They said in their website that they follow South Korean laws and theirs servers are in South Korea. I am just not comfortable with that.
Liveprofile has great potential but its too buggy. I like its interface and facebook integration, but half the time it won't work.
Beluga's poor interface makes me mad every time I open it, so going to uninstall it.
GroupMe has some kool features but it doesn't have video support.
KiK is the fastest but it won't even let you send a pic. I still love KIK and waiting for a pic/video support update.
Not too sure about WhatsApp yet. Just downloaded. Looks ok so far.
So, guys, whats your favorite instant messenger?

I like whatsapp because its available for android, iphone and blackberry.
But I hate it on android (not sure about the others) because it uses alot of internal data storage. First time I notice it the app is using 50 + mb of internal data storage, that is crazy. I emailed the developers, they said to to delete all chats, I did that and it's still using all of that data. The only way is to go to manage application and "clear data" but doing so will reset the app and you have login again. I emailed the developers again, they said basically "well I'm out of luck". With this problem and we have to pay a yearly subscription fee of $2, I think it's not worth it.
I just check the app, with only 1 chat (I send 3 msgs, receive 1 msg) it's using 7+mb
I use instant messaging like gTalk, Yahoo, and AIM, because it's not just cross every-smartphone, it's also useable on Windows, Mac, *nix, etc.. My messaging isn't limited to just smartphone users.
All these new "cross platform" chat clients are just trying to re-invent the wheel.

Can someone please tell me what LiveProfile, Kik, KakaoTalk, etc. bring to the table that's above and beyond what SMS (I use Handcent) provides, other than not counting towards your monthly SMS total?

Free worldwide text, picture, video, audio messaging with realtime message receipts and the ability to see when the other person is typing?
To answer the OP, I use What's App. I've tried all the others but I only need WA to picture message my girlfriend because I don't have pic messaging in my plan.
