This is the first I have hear of it. What is it's claim? Where is It Available?
Is it trialware, freeware, to be Paidware?
I think the app in basic principle is ok ... it will not work personally for me... in that each day needs a different profile ... so it would be excellent for me if it had an every day of the week selection set of on and off time setting like below:
We have posted a new update to Timeriffic and has profiles and more features...I think you and others interested in controlling the device's sound and vibrate based on day/time will be pretty happy.

Let us know what you think.
PS We also updated the visuals too.
I am liking the looks .. has there been any advance on the possibilty of allowing the feature I asked about in post #5 of this thread ??
You can create all sorts of profiles with various time and alert, sound settings and enable or disable them as needed.
So based on post #5 you can set up a Mon - Thu, Sun profile with the time the same for them and the alert settings the same and then set your sep. Fri and Sat profiles as per your example. And finally you could disable the Sat. one as you have shown. All the features you suggested are in place!

I have set up two Profiles that I think should take care of my example in post #5 ... will test and let you know ...
At first I thought i would have to set a profile for each day ... but giving the ability to set any day in the event made it very easy ...
Profile checkboxes are great Idea ... Ability to totally disable app ..GREAT !!
and having the next event (light bullet point ON ) that will trigger is wonderful ...
I think that it would be awesum if the Timeriffic icon appeared in the Notifications Bar, and when selected would show the current event in effect and when the next one that will happen (with event info) .. Possibility an Option that can be checked for those that dont want to clutter up their Notification Bar
I can also see that with multiple profiles ... it would be easy to have conflict between profiles ...
how about a "Conflicts Alert" when you enable more than one "Profile Enabled" with overlapping time events ???

Thanks for the feedback and ideas. Feel free to rate the app in the market too.
We toyed with the notification status icon. One reason we decided against it was, more transparent app this way. We know could make it an option for those users who desired it, we felt our first focus was all the scheduling things.
Our next feature is going to be some sort of data backup, as we realize people will "invest" time in creating their custom profiles and allowing SD card/email a txt file backup and import will help users who experience a crash/bug/lost/broken device.
I will add the notification icon request to our queue.

Backup is definate a high priority and desireable feature !!
Please read my previous post with edits ... and another future feature request ... Thanks

I think maybe an option to display a profile graph (Active Profile Events) would be helpful to visualize how the current active profiles are related and what will happen :
I am illustrating two profiles consisting to three events:
Event 1) : 4:45 am Mon-Fri, Ring, Vibrate, Ringer 100%
I have some other thoughts about how that could be done with Google's Calendar, except the API is currently not open the way we need it. But then you could have a Timeriffic Calendar and adjust on your desktop which would then be read by your G1 or any other "future" Android devices....that is where I would like to see it go.

I may do another Profile/event that would cause a conflict and show how that would appear on the Calendar-Graph ....
so as you check/uncheck different Profiles you would see if you had overlapping events ...
I have some ideas of how to visually get that display working, in the space we have. And even more so, down the road as we have different devices to deal with.
Yes, this is one feature the phone should of had by default. I'll give it some play and give you my feedback soon. I think its really cool that you preload it with profiles for playing.
Question could you of build a default profile that says if you don't have a time frame established automatically have the settings a certain volume so you don't have to literally define every minute of every day? For example I work Mon-Friday 8am-430pm so I'd want the volume 50%, but after work I'd like it to be loud by default.
Could/Would you add Media or whatever its called so if we receive Text messages or emails the volume could be set to match the ring volume? I'm at work I don't want my text message to come in loud, but I'd like it the same volume as my ringer. After work I don't want my text message low I'd like it loud which just happens to be the same as my phone.
I'll play with it none the less and thank you for all of the hard work.

To my understanding Ringtones and notification sounds are two different animals, and as notifications are at a fixed volume and are not controlled by the ringer volume.

After analizing a conflict spreadsheet and how you implement events in profiles... There is no way I can see that your app would see anything as a conflict ... This is because there is no "End Time" to an event ... the current event will just stay in effect until the start time of any other event occurs.. even if this is only one minute later ...or five days later .... This not a bad thing ... and an eloquent way to handle things.
Therefore I think a graffic display is very important ... so one can see over the whole week/day what state the phone will be in ...

Jim think a week view of a normal calendar. It might say you are going to be in a meeting from 3-5pm and also during 4-5pm your girlfriend is working out at the gym. Two events you may care about happening that overlap, are shown in a side by side view in a weekly calendar view. I see something like that for us should we decide to implement a visual view.

Ok ... But you do understand what I am saying about the way events are triggered .... they have an ON trigger ... but no OFF trigger ... they in effect get Off'd by the next event that is triggered ON ....
Hence you can not tell if you have an overlap because the event does know if it was your intention to have the event end at 3pm, 5pm, or 6:13am ...
Thus you are unable to easy know if another event is going to override and start before what was your intention for the end of the current event ...

I hope that makes sense !!
I follow you 100%. As you noted, the elegance of the solution was that conflicts were avoided. This was designed from the start. And while we do have the capability for unlimited profiles in our use case testing it seemed most likely that people would be able to manage their own schedule. Realize what you see as a conflict with an overlap might not be seen that way to others. I do understand your point, and will look into it. We had a lot of users clamoring for multi-profiles and the feedback on this update has been generally pretty good.

I am not suggesting you change multiple profile, muliple events per profile .. this is an eloquent and unlimited variable method to handle any schedule ...
It was just that if there was a way to help display an oversight in schedule ..especially when you have multiple profiles in play ...
There is a saying that I like to quote ...
"A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof; Is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools."

Yeah I know the ringer volume and the media like notifications are seperate volumes, which I don't know why I illuded that they where. So I'm a dope.
Is it possible to control the nofications volume as well so they are loud when you want them and lower when you don't?
As stated in my previous post ....

Right...we understand the wishlist. Thanks for the feedback and spending time with assisting us.
I have not messed with my schedule of events ...
But if I have two events starting at the same time ... with different settings ... which one if either will be executed last and therefore the controlling event ?
These two "sametime events" might be in the same or different profiles ...
Events which have the same time are all executed
together if their profile is active. They are executed in the top-down
direction if you look at the event list on your UI.

Got It !! so the last active profile is the "King of the Road"
BTW: I now have my spreadsheet working (with five events) ...
Easy Pick Active, Time-listbox, Days-CKBoxes, Ring & Vib Ck-Boxes, and Vol cell.
I click and pick and hit the macro process button and the result is a Weeks Calendar showing all of the Active Events... Works pretty nice ... and quickly gives me a visual and if I have any conflicts ...
So far for the last 5 days I've been running this app and I've tried all kinds of configurations to try and trick it or break it. It just seems to work and work very well.
This is an app i am very excited for if i get an android device. I have read the thread and it seems the developer(s) are very willing to listen to users. What an amazing principle...if only the bigger companies would do it?!

Thanks for the app.
This is a well executed program and with careful thought you will have flawless results. However if you have many profiles with several to many events per profile ... it can become easy to overlook time-event conflicts.
I have created an excel sheet to simulate and visually display how this can occur.
The conversation that I and dKaufman (Dave) have been having in this thread has been to highlight the way the app is handling the events..
As well as pointing out possible updates and desired features...
To this end i have attached a screen shot of my excel sheet showing 5 events with conflicts ...

Nothing new just reporting its running flawlessly. Honestly I'm to the point now that I dont even change my settings anymore because its done every day automatically.
Before I'd have it go low at work and loud after work.
Now I have it low at work, loud at lunch then back to low until work is over then loud again.
Throw in a meeting or two through the week and it adjusts for them too.
This is what should of been in the G1 from the start. Now I just hope its ready for the 1.5 firmware or I'll be in trouble when I do update mine.

Honestly we got sidetracked with a surprise we are working on for 1.5 Cupcake...I hope we can get it out very soon. And then we will turn our attention towards Timeriffic among other things.
Realize our release dates between major updates last time was quite lengthy, I don't want to set any false expectations. Thanks for the ping.

Main new addition is the brightness control, which like audio control, is able to be set to a clock timer. You can add brightness to any existing profile action, too.
