I have a Google Voice account, and haven't given any invites out (I was given one by a friend), so I assume I have some I can give... but I don't know how.
Sorry man, don't know what to say... I see #160 on his post. Yours is 159.
I have one invite left, but I am reserving that for a senior member that has a significant contribution to the community and needs an invite.
Hockey, yes. That's what I did. Do some reading up about it before you set up your account.
i set up my number, but how to i setup a google number as well.. i google "use google voice number and your own" in like fifty differently worded searches and came up with nothing

That was very sneaky of you. I saw your first post where you dropped the F-Bomb because you were one off and then you went and deleted a post to get 160. That's ****ed up man. I would appreciate an invite after that.

Reason: invites used up!
Guys be careful when you choose your number. What you want is a local number so you can use it with your home phone without using internt. Without using the internet you have to dial that number and you do not want it to be long distant or you save nothing.
If you can not get a local number (like me) then you have to use the internet to make the free connection.
Even if you use your own number, there is still a connection number to dial.
I have a shortcut on my home page to the dialing web page,I enter the number I want to call, press call. Then both my phone and who I want's phone rings. I then pick up my home phone and talk.
I do not need a long distant plan on my house phone now, just local for incoming calls ffor the family. This will save me $40 a month. Just wish I could have got a local google number.
Later if a local number comes available, I will gladly pay the $10 fee to change my number.
The google number that also rings my house phone will be given to people who might sell it to marketers or people I may not want to talk to in the future because I can screen or block the google calls.
I have plans to get the max out of my GV.
Been waiting for my area code for a long time. So I haven't got past step one on GV.lol
If you are using it for a home phone, you can still make the connection over the internet.your home phone and the number you are dialing will both ring so your home phone is getting a incoming call. Not as handy as having a local number but it still works.
A feind told me that google has started sending out invites again. He got his and he asked a month ago about two days before me. So watch your email from google.
