What's wrong with the contacts app you have now? Just open the contacts app, and hit the search button. Cant be any quicker than that

I've switched to Go Contacts and it has an alphabetical bar running vertically in your contacts window when you open the contacts list. You can hit the "s" straight away to take you to those starting with S without even having to scroll the alphabet down!

I have over 1200 contacts. The built in contacts search of my LG Shine Plus is fast enough for me. Th only thing I miss from my old Palm is that I cannot do search any field except the name. It would be nice to be able to search a phone number, the notes or occupation,etc. If anybody has an app that can do that,let me know.

Hi, on my phone, i click contacts, click on any one and on the right hand side an A to Z opens click on any letter to go to corresponding names.

Contact Lookup with the add-on Contact View (by softwyer) are very useful, searches practically all the fields in contacts not just the names. i.e. you search for beach and it will bring up the contacts that live in Myrtle Beach, the ones that live on Beach Lane and the contact with the last name of Beach. Free I think in the market.

Try google gesture search. It's not perfect, but it's an easy way to find stuff on your phone fast.
