Ubuntu - Location of market apps downloads

Hi I go to market using Ubuntu on my PC and can 'install' an app eg Dropbox for the device eg phone/tablet. I am assuming the file is cached on PC. But anyone know where? The idea being to do much of the administration on PC and later move files to SD card for install on device.
