They either have a market release by then, or a new update with another extended release date.

I'm sure they won't release it to the Market as a paid-for app until the majority of the bugs are ironed out. Seems like the dev is trying his best to get it to that state.

LOL you guys. Astro do the same thing. Set an expiry means that people are forced to update to the latest version - there no market reminders. There's probably hundreds of people on the first release still :P

Default Trusty_v2 Theme

Using Sweeter Home ;D

Main Screen. All other screens are with various items displayed depending on which SpringBoard is activated. Also, the icon trays (bottom, games, news and multimedia) scroll horizontally displaying additional icons.

Many thanks for inspiration from Sh0ebox, Katrishan_8 and rjoudrey

I struggled with this for awhile as well.

There is are Group and Minimizable properties on each springboard. Make sure the springboards that control the trays have the same Group value and Minimizable is set to Yes.

Is anyone using the widget for mototorch? I am trying to attach it to a springboard so it is only visible when I want to use it so I don't accidentally turn my LED on while moving from screen to screen but I have run into a minor glitch. When I set it up it works fine until I tap on the torch icon. The LED lights up just fine. All is well. Until I go to turn mototorch back off. The widget totally vanishes. I have to put the app back into edit mode to find it again so I can turn it back off! It is crazy! It worked fine for a while and then suddenly started doing this. Now I can't get it to work right.I either have the icon while the LED is on or I have the icon while the LED is off. I can't have both. I even tried without attaching to a springboard. No go.

I had that problem with mototorch as well. It only disappeared for me when I tried to turn it on and off too close together. It always worked fine if I waited at least a few seconds between turning it on or off.

Not the same problem then milrtime83. Bummer. As soon as I tap it to turn it on, my icon disappears. I have to go into edit mode to get it back. Then I tap on it again to turn it off and it disappears again. It is really annoying because I like this app.

Damnit, man.

Cleared my SH folder, installed again after rooting and installing DroidMod, overclocking to 800mhz.

SH still takes hours to open from the home button.

I miss using this =(

I am uninstalling then reinstalling the SH apk about once a week now while I wait for the dev to find out why the data keeps increasing so dramatically. Hopefully it will be fixed with the next update in March. Mine doesn't really take all that long to load though. It just FC's a lot. And then there are the widgets that refuse to inflate. That is a bad thing.
I just installed DarkDroid-SpecialEdition 10k/24k on top of droidmod and I am really liking the bar now. And the new widgets. They really look nice and play nice with SH. My Hal is getting quite a facelift. BTW Hal is my droid's name. Droid was just too blah. WTMI?

This seems to be improved again in the latest (private) build I'm using. In fact I've never used the home button when using SH, I've always backed out instead so apps "close" properly - but now it seems much better for me. Sh still dies in the BG with moderate browsing, but running apps, games etc seems fine and snappy when returning to home.

I had this problem as well between Mototorch and SH2 - I think I remember fixing it by going into Mototorch and changing the widget icon to one of the other 2 pics. This seemed to fix the disappearance problem. After using it a couple of times, when I changed it back to the original icon, the setup remained fixed. Hope that helps.

Got it while on break at work today. Goodness I love having internet on my phone! Downloaded and installed all while goofing off at work. I sure hope it eliminates some of those nasty FC's and the problem with the widgets not inflating properly. That would be wonderful.
I am hanging in there for perfection. I can't go back to a a prepackaged home replacement. I just can't!

Thumbs up

Looks like the Red Eye Issue has been fixed

However, it still lagging when switching home screens, and I was able to work with it for a few hours before it crashed.

Starting to see some real improvement, as I modified my theme a few times, and not a single time did it crash

I wish I could say the same. I haven't been stuck on the eye for quite some time (weeks?) ... but it happened to me yesterday afternoon with the latest release. Fortunately, I'm able to just stick the DROID in the multimedia dock and it boots into the Bedside app. No problem.

Also, this version of Sweeter Home appears to be FC'ing on me more than the last version. Progress? Usually during times with no apps are being run and I'm just on the Sweeter Home desktop. I'll look over and see the FC message. Odd.

This app may never come out of beta.

I agree. About a day and half of the FC's and sluggishness with the new build was all I could take. I think I have built some pretty awesome themes with the app. Would be great to use them.

It would be nice if we could lock the theme and at that point sweeterhome would be just a home replacement app.

That's how I run mine. I don't think I've had a single FC on my Magic with the latest build.

If you're getting FC's - PLEASE check the sweeterhome directory and look for the latest logdump (sort by date) then send it through to bugs@sweeterhome.com. Dev is getting into full on memory leak and bug fixes at the moment. He wants to get it as stable as possible before building more features.

Can I ask, do you guys still have much going on on your stock home screen? My stock home is COMPLETELY empty.

Also, I now always do the following:

Download the new SH build.
UNINSTALL SH.
Reinstall SH - but don't launch.
Power phone off and back on.
Wait for SD to initialise, then choose SH as default and launch.

Uninstalled the old SH and then installed the new one then rebooted. I was getting tons of FC's all day long and the size of my data was 30MB. Ridiculous!. Back down to 2.93MB now. Widgets are working much better with this version but I am not so sure about all those FC's. Hopefully soon those will be a thing of the past too.

I have nada on all other home replacement screens. I only use the stock one if I can't get into SH. Desperate measures for sure.

Any idea why you can't add mototorch widget to a springboard?

Emailed the log dumps. The new version force closes an annoying amount of times, usually when scrolling from screen to screen. Weather Widgets (the flip clock/weather style) also has a problem with the time being out of sync. The sync works fine on the stock home.

Since I have switched to Ultimate 5.0 Rom and now Ultimate 5.5 Rom I haven't had a single FC. Sweeter Home is the most stable I have ever had it. I use nothing else because nothing else compares. Wish I knew why it works so well on one phone and not on others.

Did you log a bug report?

Screen to screen working fine on my Magic.

Does the same thing happen when using a completely blank theme?

I love SH but I was really hoping that last build would stop the data from increasing so much. It still seems to go up with every FC. And I am still experiencing way too many of those for apparently no reason. Just sitting in the dock or swiping from one screen to another it will FC. Still, the alternative is not an option yet. I am not giving up on SH.

Thumbs down Last two Builds

SH's latest "feature" is to just FC while my DROID is idle. These last two builds are two steps in the wrong direction.

Not for me. Widgets were working much better but now I am getting error inflating widget again too on Beautiful Weather especially. And lots of bitmap errors. Version 756 seems to have been much more stable than either version 764 or 765 for me other than the runaway data problem that is.

The one released on the 9th is a lot more stable as far as FC's. Widgets are still slow to update. It takes close to 15 seconds to update the time on the Weather Widgets Flip Clock when I unlock my phone. When pressing home from within an app its now incredibly slow to bring up my home screen, about 10 seconds or even longer.

In a FAQ on the SH site, it says that you can select which layer to edit by pressing and holding on the screen while in edit mode but all that does is bring properties up for the current item showing. The edit button does give any options to switch layers. When on a screen where there is no open real estate while editing, how do you switch layers?? I've searched all over for layers and didn't see anything about it. Just d/led SW2 last week and wow, what an improvement over 1!

When in edit mode and you long press somewhere on the screen it brings up the property box you mention. At the bottom of that property box are all the other things that are under where you pressed. Select one of those and then when you long press on that same spot you will get the property box for whichever item you just selected.
