Default Sweeter Home

I recently discovered Sweeter Home from some vids on Youtube.
This looks like an amazing Home replacement! Very different approach than any of the others on the market.
I use Home++ now which i love< but i'm looking for something a little more original.

My issue is, Where is Sweeter Home? I cannot find it on the market.
Did it get taken down for some reason? Anyone else having this issue?

Also if you are using it let me know how you like it.
Thanks

It's not only for rooted phones. I've used it and it's pretty sweet, but there is currently no widget support in Preview 1. Hopefully he adds that when Preview 2 is released, because currently the customization options are endless. I've seen some awesome themes created for it.

It's possible that the dev took it out of the market in anticipation of releasing Preview 2. I hope this is the case, because it's really fun to play around with and has a ton of potential.

EDIT: Checked his website and it seems the next version, Preview 2, is coming out shortly, so that's probably the reason you can't find Preview 1 on the Market right now.

You'll be making a lot of people very happy with that news! Is it more user-friendly than the last one?

Yeah, there's obviously a steep learning curve still though. But the UI is a LOT better, and more intuitive. And I'll be putting some welcome vids together to help people understand everything...

Just stumbled across this thread and checked out the YouTube vids. Looks great to me. Very elegant. I will be sure to keep an eye out for it on the market.

Thumbs up Yowza!

Just watched the YouTube vids and had a religious experience! I am so excited to try this on my DROID. And I thought I liked Home++.

I can't wait until I can install this app! We need an up-to-the-minute update when this becomes available!

Default SweeterHome2 Beta

Just saw this went live, if people are interested...its a home replacement app, I installed it and its running very smooth so far, although none of the themes really seem Droid friendly, since we have a higher resolution. I'm hoping this will change, especially if people like it!

SweeterHome2 - Wiki - sweeterhome.com

This is the only place to get it, its not in Market.

Cool, I've been waiting patiently for weeks. I downloaded it, but I won't have time to play with it until later. Yes, there is going to be a bit of a learning curve with this home replacement app.

It's a geek app. So many things that you can customize and change and all of those options are embedded in different layers of menus and what not. There's so much that you can change that'll probably numb your mind. But what SH really does is really give you the freedom to personalize your space even more than any home replacement has before. But yeah, it's a geek thing, built in a complicated mess like most PC/Linux geeks like it

Is it a major resource hog? Less customizable ones like Panda and DxTop can get really laggy the more you customize them. I finally switched to Launcher+ so I could have extra screens but no lag and force closes.

I haven't personally used SH, but the developer was running it on a G1 (check the Youtube videos) and there didn't appear to be any lag. But then again, he wasn't loading up the screens with apps and widgets. To me, once people are using it to its near potential, I can see how it might bog down. That's why I'm going to wait and see what the response to the Beta 2 version is. Even Home++ which doesn't have that kind of customization can be laggy (for some) and it can't layer widgets like SH does. In one of the demos, the dev demonstrated how he could layer three widgets over each other. To me, that is a recipe for problems.

Yeah, I would hate to spend a ton of time tweaking it just to be forced to delete it when it looks near perfect but slows the phone to a crawl. It could be really fun to play with though.....I have the .apk downloaded, just gonna wait to install it.....

Well I have also been waiting for this for weeks or more now and was so excited to see this thread, followed the link , installed it , played with it for a few but it was lagging terribly so I rebooted my Droid and now I cant get past the boot screen. This sucks. Anybody else having this problem?

Actually it does boot, I can hear all my notifications and the LED is flashing I can even make the slide to unlock motion and in vibrates like it unlocks the the screen is stuck on the pulsing eye....

Is it really worth it? I spend some time customizing GDE, and would hate to lose all the effort just to try it, and then crash and burn miserably

Very smooth and fast, although one FC. But....too freaking complicated! LOL. As I said in the other thread, I guess I'm just not willing to spend that much time on it. If someone comes out with some better pre-made "themes" then I might re-install it.

Nope, are you running the 2.1 Rom? I went back to 2.0 before installing this so I don't know if it will work on 2.1. Runs pretty smooth on my Droid

Nope, I'm running an optimized 2.0.1 base with several 2.1 apks installed but not the 2.1 launcher. Oh well, as long as nobody else is having the problem then I wont worry about it. Thanks for your reply.

I'm running it on HC's 2.1 ROM. I am loving life! Dag, this is sweet! Not one FC yet. And switching back and forth from Launcher to Sweeter Home isn't an issue as of yet.

I've already customized a few things. Wow! The possibilities are endless! I really don't see the need for the 5 desktops that this gives you. But I'll think of smething.

It's out, not on the market, but available as a public beta from the website sweeterhome.com . Going to install it later.

I would agree that the 4 extra screens are pointless.

The minimalist theme seem to be the best for the droid.

What I can't figure out is how to pull up the menu with the three options, one of them being springboard to add apps to the board.
Help.

Didn't expect this many responses, I thought I might of been the only one really interested in it!

Anyway, its AWESOME so far, no slowdown. I've been customizing my own theme but its going to take hours and hours. This is by far the best Home replacement app I've used.

I personally experienced more problems with Launcher2 or whatever the 2.1 APK was called.
