He is. If you look at the bottom left screencap, you can see the bottom half of the icon and the name in the top-most row

NEW BUILD!!! Please update to the latest version!

http://www.sweeterhome.com/

Heaps of bug fixes, hugely improved image handling and caching, wayyy more stable, handful of new features (turn off landscape, springboard hierarchy, better pixel grading on rounded corners).

Thanks El Blacksheep. I see the difference when I save to SDcard when I remove the embed feature. I feel much more "secure" now. I love that pun!

OK, I have a quick question

I am almost done with my theme, but want to make just a minor improvement

I have on the main screen the Beautiful Widgets Smaller Home, Handcent, and VizBattery

When I click on any on the springboards, like the phone, I have the contacts and recent calls along with a custom tray

What I want to do, is to click on the springboard, automatically hide the three widgets that I mentioned, and increase the size of the calls and contacts list

Someone mentioned triggers, but I have no clue as to how to set those up

Any ideas?

Thanks

i dont think you can make a springboard both open what it controls and minimize what nothing else does.

my best suggestion, make a 100% transparent springboard somewhere on the screen that brings up the 3 widgets, and just keep it open until you need another springboard and hit it again when you get done.

Default jps_droid

SH 1.jpg

SH 2.jpg

SH 3.jpg

SH 4.jpg

This is my theme so far.

The springboards turn from black/white with black lettering when off to white/red with white lettering when on.

Top screen - calendar.
Bottom screen - All Apps tray.
Left screen - Settings and Tools
Home screen - Contact, Phone tools, Messaging, Market and Browser.
Right screen - Multimedia, Games, and Navigation.

And just in case anyone wants it. It is in the theme list, search for "jps_droid" theme name, or "gwwjpd" theme author.

And whoever said there was a "learning curve" with Sweeter Home, was not kidding. Tough to get started, but it does get easier. Customizing is unlimited as far as I can tell.

I asked the same thing about the map on the Sweeterhome message board. I had the Star Trek theme and the map looks to default to same as GWW's.

My guess is that it's showing Google's headquarters. I would prefer it showed my location.

Oh good, new update. I just switched back to default Home today because I was getting so tired of force closes, beautiful home ceasing to update after said force closes, slow screen switching from time to time, and then having my phone lock up and forcing me to pull my battery on a couple occasions with the previous version. I'll give this new one a try... hopefully this will alleviate some (or most) of these issues.

If you install SH2 without removing GDE and just setting your default to SH2, wouldn't your GDE still keep its current configuration? That's how it was when I had Home++ and I switched to SH2.

I assumed the gde processes might be running on the background.. that is why I was thinking of waiting.. Am I wrong?

Ahh, yes. It probably would run in the background. I'm not sure if it would auto-start if you force closed it while it wasn't set as your default home though.

Upload them to an image hosting site (e.g., photobucket, flickr, imageshack, tinypic, etc.). Then click on the little yellow icon of the Mountain in the message editing box and paste the URL for the image into the box that pops up. It'd be best if the picture was sized down so that it's not so gigantic.

Or you can use the attachment feature to upload your photos.

Build 727 is rockin! When I installed it, I turned off "Automatically sync tags", removed all of the tagged trays and exchanged them for custom trays, and I have yet to sign in. It is running faster than any other home app (including the stock app) that I've ever used. Awesome!

I think I've gotten my home theme to a decent place functionally and aesthetically.

Note: I definitely borrowed wallpapers/ideas from many others

Home: Media, Connect, Location
Left: Calendar, News, Recreation, Social
Right: Tools, Productivity, Commerce, Car
Top: Direct Dial shortcuts
Bottom: All Apps

I'm not creating "new" themes ... I just keep tweaking my DrPepper theme. Recently I just created my own custom wallpaper instead of using the stock one, and I created my own icons down at the bottom (stock icons are so lame). I also tweaked the Beautiful Widget clock a little (transparent background w/ 3D numbers).

switched to a blue themed ROM and finally installed the new build...heres what i have now. i wish i could get rid of the top and bottom screens. hell, i'd pay for sweeter home in a heartbeat if it had the option to use just 1 screen.

I think you have real potential. I like the room concept. You should place your springboards in top of furniture. Like press the sofa for entertainment, etc.

EDIT: Oh, i see you've created them yourself. You haven't uploaded them anywhere, have you? :-)

@MrMan, I didn't think anybody would want it, but I've uploaded my theme. You can search under my username.

@MYandroidUSERNAME, I remember you uploaded some of your black-colored icons a while back. I really like these blue-black ones. Any chance you could upload those as well? These icons might actually prompt me to use Bettercut.

@Everybody: i just uploaded my theme, and I checked to make sure all my trays had the "Embed" option set to "no". However, if I clear my theme, create a new one, reboot etc., and then download my own theme again, all the items, including Direct Dial shortcuts, are there. Is that because SweeterHome is saving some info on my SD Card, or because I actually have embedded some of my info without realizing it? Thanks.

Would be nice to get all the quotepics removed from this topic. No need to see the same dozen pics 20 times because everyone wants to know "omg what widget is that?"

Default Resized icons/pics

One issue that I have always had with Sweeter Home is that I have some pics on my left, right, and bottom portrait screens. And if I use landscape mode (which has totally separate screens on them as well), when I return to portrait mode, these icons are resized and look bad. I have tried everything I can think of to keep this from happening. I guess I should take screenshots to show y'all what I'm referring to.
