A new update! This one is not that big:
Little bug fixes done.
General Settings > Shake to Stop Alert: If an alert is being spoken , you can stop it by shaking the phone. WARNING: This new feature has not been tested on a real phone. Please send me an email if it does not work as expected.
I can't find it either, but I dont think it will work on 1.5 anyways from the sound of it. 1.6 adds the tts functionality but hopefully someone can prove me wrong...it looks like a very convenient app.

I did find it on the market - it states it is for 1.6 or newer.

Alejandro, I noticed your app in the Market last week, and promptly grabbed it. Proves to be extremely helpful when driving, but also at other times when I'm alone in my home office working on a project. Really convenient not to have to stop and pick up the phone to see what a sound alert is telling me. It's quickly become one of my most valued apps. Thanks for making it available!
This sounds like a great App - I see that there is now an update for 1.5 (I have an Eris) From your site I scanned the barcode to download and it says not found in the marketplace...maybe the search was for a different version and I just thought it was an update? Would love to try this out!

I think the version of his application is up to 1.5 so like 5 update since his first release.
i personally like this app. it's been a while since this thread had any replies but i hope the dev reads this. requesting for compatibility with Loquendo Susan
a) Does it run in the background, and give the alerts while other programs are running?
AND
b) Can it say the DAY and date, perhaps every five minutes?
I got a parking ticket last week because I returned from a vacation and forgot the day was Tuesday instead of Monday. Here in NYC with alternate side parking on different days, I would LOVE it if an app were running in the background telling me "Today is Tuesday" as I'm driving around looking for parking.
Perhaps it could even be linked somehow to GPS, so it only starts alerting you as you get within, say, a half-mile of your destination.
Being registered as blind I love this app BUT I have just installed the new version on my replacement HTC Sensation and the GMAIL & SMS alerts won't work.
I can cope without gmail alerts but not SMS.
Not sure what version was installed on my old HTC Sensation but it worked fine
