Default Remove icon from app list

Is there anyway to remove an icon from the app list without removing that actual app?

If you're using a launcher you can. I don't know if there's a way when using the stock launcher though.

Stock launcher is also a launcher...
Sorry to be picky.

Anyway, you are right. Some different launchers like Go Launcher EX allow you to hide app icons from applications drawer. Note that this doesn't uninstall the application itself.

Alternatively, you can use apps that do that, like Advanced App Locker.

Don't be sorry - I knew the wording was off but hoped the idea behind what I wanted to say came through.

I would love to know this as well. I would love to be able to hide many of the useless apps that can't be deleted, or widget short cuts that don't need to be displayed, preferably only affecting my apps list, not my home screens.

pretty sure you can't, that's why suggestions were made of either download an app that does that specific thing or get a custom launcher like go launcher

What app does just that without replacing the home screens and launcher?

If your phone is rooted, you can uninstall it. Or you can use Titanium Backup or many others to Freeze it. Freeze does not delete it but you cannot run it and it does not show up in the list. This is usually an intermediate step before your delete. Or you can use it to temporarily freeze an app that you do not use very often but is a resource hog like Google Maps, to save battery life.

I have an EVO 3d so rooting isn't an option at the moment. I like the new sense and many of its widgets / featurea, so I don't want to replace it all with a new launcher. Someone suggested advanced app, locker but that doesn't seem to do what we're asking about either.
