Default

Go to Settings > Applications > Manage applications > <your stock player> > Clear defaults.

Next time you'll able to choose MoboPlayer as default player when you start the video file

I came across this thread while searching for a solution to the identical problem. My Handbrake H.264 encoded movies will not play in the stock video player (that player is called "Movies") so I downloaded Moboplayer and all was well. That was until I started using Allshare. I also can't get Allshare to use Moboplayer. Moboplayer application settings show it is set for default and the "Movies" player shows "no defaults set". It seems as though the "Movies" player is called in Allshare no matter what.

The "Movies" player does not seem to like files with AC3 as well as AAC. If I try to play a movie that only has AAC (also encoded with Handbrake), it plays just fine.

I never did get Allshare to use Mobo player, but I found another DNLA app that does. SoftMedia Player from the Android market is free and does exactly what I want. It connects to my computer that I use as a media server and lets me choose Mobo as my video player.
