Just wanted to point out Wavesecure has changed to using international text messages locate your phone. For Sprint (who I use) charges $0.20 per international text message.
Yeah, saw that when I went to log in last night. That sucks, but since you can do everything from the phone (except locate it), it isn't too bad. I'll only need the online stuff in the unlikely event that I lose my phone, and a free app will surely pay for itself many times over if I do ever need to pay the $0.20/message international charge.

I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, please keep me here
What can I say, I come from race cars and pop rocks
Actually, they ran out of a UK and US text message server for a while to eliminate this problem since a large number of users are in these countries, but they apparently had some reliability issues with the servers, so they moved back to the Singapore only one.
Hopefully they'll get it fixed and move back to UK and US servers.
Let's see: $0.20 for an international text message and very little frustration vs untold number of hours trying to find a lost phone, number of hours researching a replacement phone, cost of a replacement phone, et al. I think I'll take the $0.20 charge.

I agree. I was just letting people know in case they were testing it out that they should expect a few extra cents on their bill....
I assume this will fix the problem I had with it. It would only lock my phone after I would do a reboot. I uninstalled it so maybe I'll have to try it again.

Hi all,
Like April_Fool_79 mentioned, we utilized a service provider for UK and US text messages. Despite initial tests before rolling out, it seems like many of our users experienced reliability issues with the service. Hence, we've taken the decision to switch back to our servers in Singapore.
We feel that by providing a quality and reliable service, users will be able to understand the small cost charged by their operators/carriers.
We are currently exploring other options and meanwhile, we hope to seek everybody's understanding in this matter.

Hi all,
We are happy to announce that WaveSecure SMS gateway in the US is now live! This means WaveSecure users in the US will no longer get international text charges when performing remote commands from the web site.
This took a while because setting up our own server was a little more complicated that anticipated. Also, we ran into a snag when the operators blocked us for sending way too many texts. These issues are now sorted and the gateway is stable.
So give WaveSecure a spin and if there are still kinks to work out, do let us know. We would also like to thank all those who helped with testing the US gateway. You guys rock!
I just got my new phone in July and appear to be getting international sms charges when using the online/remote tracking feature - is that right? I thought from the last response that there's a US-based server now for this.

Hi gwa584,
The US-based server is already in place. If you are still getting charged for international SMS text messages, please contact me via private message so we can look into this.
