Email problems with Samsung Galaxy G2 ntlworld

I have set up the Samsung App on my Samsung Galaxy G2 for email from ntlworld (using POP) but I can only get emails from August. How should I change the settings to get my latest correspondence? I’ve tried adding the recent: prefix to the POP3 username but to no avail.
