Question Unread Gmail Message Preview Widget/App

Is there an app or widget that will show the "from" and "subject" of the 2 or 3 newest unread gmail messages?

I don't usually give my 2 cents, but checking your Gmail from the stock widget is literally ONE screen touch. You have to touch the screen to wake the phone, so ONE more touch isn't going to break your finger :P

Actually, It's two touches - One to open gmail, and one to close gmail. If I'm working at my desk and get a new message chime, I'd like to be able glance over to my phone and see whether it's a message I want to stop what I'm doing to read.

have you tried the Pure Messenger? I think it does what you're looking for, but I'm not 100% sure.

Pure messenger should fit the bill. You have a choice of preview or list mode with various size widgets.
