is there an app that can send your location in a useful format to any dumbphone without internet?

i mention mms in the title since the only useful format i can come up with is an image capture of google maps of the appropriate zoom level and your location pinpointed on it

I take it you have tried Here I Am and found it lacking?

Unfortunately, I know of no apps that will, essentially, take a screen shot of Google Maps and send that (in fact, I'm not even sure the Google Maps license allows distributing it that way).

yeah, well a person with a dumbphone without access to google maps isn't gonna find my coordinates very helpful, are they...

it does seem like the tos wouldn't allow this, tho' i think google would probably give permission to do this if asked

with drocap2, you could take a screenshot of google maps, edit it (crop) with any app, then send that via mms.

Myposition does this. It does send a google maps link but you can erase it from the mms if you want and leave the coords, or just the address (which is a gps approximation, may not be accurate) You can also send google maps screen cap and draw on the map and circle point, etc. And it free.
