Question Best FTP and file explorer???

Hi guys, I'm a new Android user and I'm trying to learn about this FTP stuff. From what I understand, I can access my home network remotely through 3G or wifi, correct?
Here is the short list of the most popular FTP programs I've come up with. What are the pros and cons? Lets here some opinions
Estrongs
Astro
AndFTP
File Expert

Also, what is the best FTP software for the PC side to get this working?

Great question since I have both ES File Explorer (Estrongs) and Astro loaded.

I like ES File Explorer file browser more than Astro because ES File Explorer's LAN Share shortcut feature is better than Astro's add on SMB Module bookmarks. I also like ES File Explorer's navigation features with swiping between list screens so that you can hide those large navigation buttons. ES also supports Dropbox if that's your thing, and allows selection of media files from my desktop LAN shares for streaming over the LAN using MX Video Player.

I really like Astro's App Backup Manager more than ES File Explorer, and Astro's feature to Edit File Extensions has come in useful.

Besides, Astro's ads get it the way while ES is adfree.
