Default Pesky podcasts in Google Music on my phone

I have Beyond Podcast synced with my Google Reader, happy with it, no problem.

Now I have Google Music, all my music up in the cloud and able to get it on my HTC Evo 4G (Cyanogen 7.1.0 RC1). But, my podcasts from Google Reader are showing up along with my music on my phone only. These Podcasts are not in the Google Music cloud.

I don't want these podcasts to appear with my music on my phone. Any tips will be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Are your podcasts in a separate folder? If so do you open the folder and then select the podcast or do you pick them through you Google Reader app?

I'm seeing the same thing. It's very annoying because my podcasts are locally on my phone and are in no way associated with the folder I have setup for Google Music on my pc.

I have looked through my SD card and I just can't find these podcast files anywhere. When I tried to delete them from my Google Music app on the phone I get a message these were sideloaded, which I didn't do. This makes me think there is some setting somewhere Google Music picks these podcasts from my Google Reader and adds them to the list of songs from the Music cloud list. If this is so, then may be I can set it to let Google Music not sideload the podcasts.

There is no setting in Google Music to not have it show audio files that are on your phone. If you can find the podcast files you can follow THESE instructions on how to make the files not show up in Google Music. The only problem is they may not show up in your Reader app afterward but it is worth a shot. Even if they don't show up in the Reader you should be able to go to the folder that contains them and open them individually.

Thanks Airmax23, I found the podcasts in Beyond Podcast folder and added the blank .nomedia file and rebooted the phone. They don't show up anymore.

One more related question, I have some music tracks set to be available offline, but I am not able to see these files anywhere while I was looking for the podcast files. Just curious, any idea in what folder the offline music files are stored?

Thanks...

try putting the files in the appropriate folders - then do a reboot -

Question

So, how do you put the files in the appropriate folders. Do you need to root to do this?
