Default Any way to silence or ignore text from specific contact?

Any way to silence, ignore or automatically delete text from a specific contact? Maybe an Application?

Ideally, I'd like to not even see or hear it.

Need to get the message to the phone as I am using SMS to trigger something on the phone, but don't care for the message itself.

I'm on a Samsung Epic with Gingerbread, can I set a ringtone for text messages of nothing or silent for the contact?

GoSMS has a blacklist feature for hiding unwanted texts.

Before the alert/notification? Only on that client? Not sure I want another sms client on the phone.

Check out aFirewall. I've been using it for phone calls for about a year but it's supposed to work for messages as well.

If you use GO SMS, you will use it as a replacement for the stock SMS app. Basically its just a replacement and you can stop using the other app anymore, as it adds on more features. You can blacklist any specific person using GO SMS. You won't even no they texted you. No notification, no sound whatsoever.

Or you can use a blacklist app to block sms and calls from a specific person.

SMS Sounds Plus would allow you to do that.

Go to your address book and long press the contact. One of the options in the menu will be "Add to reject list." This will automatically ignore all incoming calls, though I am not too sure if it will also ignore texts.
