Post Problems with e-mail setup

I am new to tablerd and to Android. My Toshiba tablet connects to the internet and toEnail no problem, but the app for connecting to my email providers giving me trouble. My provider is Cphenom and it uses a POP server. The app calls for a POPserver, so I remove the 3 included in the address. On the out going mail it wants to use port 587 (I think that is the number) so I switched it to 25 which is Cogeco's port. Neither send nor receive works so
I down loaded another mail program Kay 9 (sorry I can't get the machine to accept the letter Kg. with the numeral 9!). It too wants a POP 3 server will accept incoming mail, but I can't send. Any advice would be appreciated (I've tried Cogeco.

Try using port 587 instead of 25. It may actually be correct. Some providers use 587 for mobile devices.
