I read an article about ECRS debuting their Web Catapult 2.0 app for use on tablets, but haven't been able to find any info besides the actual article, even on ECRS' website.

Any retail management types here know what I'm talking about or have any experience with this??

We are currently testing a Nexus 7 Rooted and Unlocked with USB OTG Cable and Honeywell USB scanner

Pros

Price! A fraction of what some other handhelds cost
Ease of use
Customization - Use SureLock Kiosk Lockdown to prevent abuse or unistall any unwanted apps once rooted.
Nexus 7 can even have multiple users now with JellyBean 4.2.1

Cons

2 hand use - A case like the Proporta Google Nexus 7 Case available on amazon could help this
Battery Life - Scanner may draw power significant power from tablet, thinking of trying a bluetooth scanner which would be wireless as well
Fragile - One drop could destroy, case above could prevent this.

Web Catapult is currently limited to a few kinds of worksheets, but they seem to be the ones you would need to have wirelessly. Receive W/O a PO, Price Check, Inventory Label, Inventory Adjustment etc.

To Access Web Catapult:

Server must have Static IP
On any device with browser, navigate to <IP Address>:8080/ecr/mobile
Use your regular login

I have even used my android phone to access web catapult. I hope this helps. I am curious to hear what your experiences & input if you have tried anything.
