I figured out from another post that my .mobi files were not showing up in the kindle app because I didn't reboot. Once I rebooted they were there. Now the problem is that some of the books don't have cover images, they are just the generic blue covers with writing. However, when I look at the books in my Calibre library, the covers show up.

Some of my mobi books have a cover in the Kindle app's shelf, others have not.

But my two other mobi readers show the same.
So it isn't a Kindle app issue.

That may be the case that it is not because of kindle....any thoughts on why the covers are now showing up? Where exactly are the covers stored? in the .mobi file?

Exactly! I know that Calibre is very popular, but this is not the first time I've heard of this issue. Maybe contact Calibre and see what they have to say?

FWIW, I use the online PDF to MOBI converter and have never had a problem.
