Maybe I'm missing something, but what is the big deal of having these apps listed at Google Play ? Only problem I can see is if you have one that would be considered embarrassing (porn or something like that), one that you really wouldn't want your parents or wife to see you downloaded. Please enlighten me.
Here's a scenario that comes up on non-rooted phones. You wipe the phone to fix a problem or some Verizon employee says you have to. You want to get back all the free programs you had, but not all the ones you had over the last 2 years. It would be easier to scroll through the list to add the 20 you want rather than trying to wade through the 300 you tried and didn't want anymore and try to remember the ones you did want.
Device(s): Samsung Moment, Droid 4, LG Spectrum, 2x Nook Tablet, all rooted.
Carrier: Verizon

I do that after flashing a Rom, since we have had so many issues with reboots after restores.

More like install 50 of 500+ tried! Just did that, NO FUN. Google should fix this issue.

Is there a way to remove apps from Google Play Account?
I understand the paid ones need to stay, but i have a lot of apps/games that I've installed to
try or play and no longer want, and would like to remove them from the actual Market.
Thanks Pep
I also wondered about this question to my friend who knows about Google Play, but no one even knows how to move applications where Google Play. If there is to know, also let me know.

When getting a new phone going to this list is the quickest way to install all the apps you have previously used (w/o rooting and using titanium backup). I recently got a new phone and had to scroll through a VERY long list off apps and decide which ones to install again. I would also like to be know how to do what the op is asking for future use

Aside from the garbage apps cluttering the list, if they really wanted to be helpful, they'd have a 3rd tab to go with INSTALLED and ALL: the UNINSTALLED list.
The Google Play website, now shows installed and uninstalled apps separately. Click on "My Android Apps" and at the top I see a group of apps with the heading "Apps installed on Samsung YP-G1" (this is my only devicebut I assume if you have more they will each have their own section) and you can uninstall or update as appropriate. Below that is another group of apps with the heading "Other apps in my library" which has all the apps I have tried but uninstalled. (then right at the borrom is "Explore more Android apps" which is stuff they think I might be interested in)
I'm guessing this feature isn't in the Play app because I don't remember having an update but it's been on the website for a while now.

That is a crock, I emailed Goggle in early 2011 asking how to do this after I went wild with my new tablet and downloaded tons of stuff. Love how they like to rewrite history (except for the history that I actually WANT to change )
I was just searching for this very issue, so it was nice to find the voting page at least. Google really needs to step up here, Google Play needs a dose of quality control and help us get rid of all the clutter.
At the very least, a system should be in place to automatically delete the free version of any app once a paid version is purchased.

That won't always work. Some applications require you to install the free version then purchase a license or key.
Titanium Backup is one example.

Like many people, I tried a load of apps which I found to be pretty crap. Mostly free apps. But they still show.
Google's "updated/uprated" Play is rubbish.
Can't sort by status (i.e. installed or not) Can't filter by cost (i.e. paid or not) Can't remove devices (sorry, sold that HTC phone 2 years ago!!)
Just Hard reset the phone and add it to a different account. I did that just to get my dads phone on his own account. and it removed it's self from mine

Can't remove the crappy apps I have no intention of ever buying or installing but which clog up the list and stop me making use of the ability to reinstall.
my problem is that the apps seem to auto reinstall after a uninstall and hard reset
The automatic reinstall is a feature that the user can turn on or off.
When you setup your Android for the first time, you are given this option to back up your apps and data to Google servers and restored them after a reinstall.
If you have this option checked, then this is what it's happening to you.
There is an option in the setting for this.
Look for it, it should say something about 'Backup' or 'Restore' setting. Uncheck those options and make sure you are connected to the internet so your Android can update your settings on Google servers as well.
Now, next time you hard reset, Android won't reinstall any programs automatically.

When one is installing apps on a new device (or reset my existing device), it is nice to install all the apps you use, given I have tried and tested over 220 apps and I use possibly 20. It takes me over 30- 45 minutes to sort through the unwanted apps (because the list refreshes and starts at the top on every install) , I have to painstakingly scrolled through a list of what I call C&@P and find my gems hidden among them, not to mention I may get confuse between a apps on my list and the C&@P I am trying to avoid.
So searching for a solution I found this tread. I would happily spend an hour organising it to make it less cumbersome with every reset. So that why I need to delete all the unwanted apps associated with my account because I only want 20 apps associated with my account.
There are many solutions to the problem the basic principle is:
1) Ask Google to add extra features = I have no controlee over what they do.
2) Removing unwanted apps from my account = a personal liberty and I "can" (should be able to) controlee my personal information as I see fit.
This is the message on Google Plays website.. as of today.
At this time, there is no way to delete records of old apps either on the Google Play website (play.google.com) or from the My Apps section of the Google Play Store app.
If you’re in Google Play and tap Menu > My Apps, or if you’ve clicked on My Android Apps/My Orders & Devices on play.google.com and you’re trying to remove some of the apps that are listed, then you’re experiencing this behavior.
At this time, there’s no workaround available; however, we do know that some users are looking for a way to delete old apps from Google Play, and we’ll certainly take this into account as we work to improve the Google Play experience in the future.

Get won't let you remove them, because then they cannot brag about how many apps have been downloaded from the play store. They could make everyone happy by adding filters or allowing custom category assignment.
This is now possible with the latest version of Google Play
Just a quick post to let you know that this is now possible with the latest version of the Google Play app. Simply select Google-Play from your applications and select uninstall-updates, this will return you to the old Marketplace app, however, will prompt you to install Google Play, I had 3.7 or 3.8 before, I'm now on 3.9.16 and on the "All Apps" page, there is a no-entry sign to the right of the app which allows you to remove it from the All Apps list.

You can also get it here. QR code is also available at that link.
All the 40 or 50 apps I deleted using the new GooglePlay app are still there... So all this does is hide them on the phone.
Its also very tedious as after each one is deleted it goes back to the top of the list.
Do they even employ people to test usability of Google products?
EDIT: Tell a lie.. SOME apps delete and SOME dont... I cannot get shot of FPS Doug Soundboard!!! Still its not as embarrassing an app to have in your list as others!

... but don't press on that strikethrough circle icon on the right side, long press on the left side at the app's icon instead.
And selecting the rest goes the same, but just tap (not long press ! ) on the left side at the app's icon.
When you've all apps selected then tap on the strikethrough circle icon at the upper right corner to delete them

The Following 5 Users Say Thank You to Harry2 For This Useful Post:
I agree that this "feature" of Google Play Store really sucks. Given that Google refuses to give us easy ways around this huge inconvenience, I have settled on this procedure:
1. Install a backup program. I'm currently using Titanium, but My Backup Pro and others will also work.
2. Backup all your apps and data to your sdcard.
3. This step is optional: put the APK file for your backup program onto the sdcard, as well.
4. Factory reset, new phone, new ROM, etc.
5. Mount your sdcard on the device, if it isn't already there.
6. If you performed step 3, navigate to the sdcard and install the backup program. Otherwise, re-install it from the Play Store.
7. Use it to restore the apps you saved on your sdcard.
This gets the new phone, ROM, etc. into the same state, app-wise, as the previous version. After this, none of your uninstalled and unused apps in the Play Store will be presented to you during application auto-updates.
Yeah, this can be a PITA. But it does save the trouble of going through the Play Store and selecting apps one by one.

My Google account keeps track of my apps, and my Play Store apps reinstall automatically. Amazon App Store apps don't however, but the paid version of Titanium Backup will restore everything at once.

I found a way if you have Google Play Version 3.10.9 Now this is on your Android Device not the computer itself.
1. Click On the Play Store
2. Menu
3. My Apps
4. Flick to the left where it says All and then scroll all the way down to where some apps you know are not on your phone and click the little cirlcle thing with the slash through it. It says something like, "Remove "what ever the name of the app is" from my Apps" then click OK.
5. Go to your website and see the All and see if it worked for you!
It's working out for me, But I wish on the actual website we could do this instead of doing it one at a time.

Strange ... in another thread a poster has the same issue ... and not a solution yet.
So you might try this: If you can't reach this multi-select mode, you might uninstall the Play Store app's updates and updates it again.
Settings, Apps, All, Google Play Store, Uninstall updates ...

I could remove them, just not doing that whole long press and selecting thing.
I had to remove them one by one. It was a pain in the butt, but I got it.
Thank god so when I get my new phone in a few weeks it wont install all that crap that I don't need. I have been slowly deleting stuff that I haven't used in a while as well.
They are not showing up on my account if I were to look up my account on a regular computer so I thank god for that. But I still wish I could go onto the google play store on the actual computer and do it that way.
I've done this, however in google play under my account, my orders, it still shows apps from back when I had the G1. It also still shows every phone/ROM combination I've ever had under Settings as different devices.

I cleared my old apps via my device as described above (I did them one at a time because there weren't a huge amount) and they no longer appear in the Google Play website either.
"Other apps in my library" is empty and nothing extra is listed under "My Orders" either. I wonder if this is because I have never paid for any apps. I can understand Google not deleting apps from your list if you have purchased them because if you want to reinstall them you would then have to pay again, but it doesn't matter with free apps.
I suspect all the free apps you removed are no longer listed but the paid ones are still there.

It's not that I have never paid for an app, and I have followed the directions to remove all the apps I don't actually use, and on google play online there are tons and tons still on the list that range from an app that I downloaded for 15 seconds before deleting them, to apps I used for a year, but back in 2009. There is no way for me to get rid of them unfortunately.
The uninstalled apps are still shown under-"My Orders and Settings"
Hi All,
I can remove the apps from my library but when i go to the menu-"My Orders and Settings", the uninstalled apps are still shown there. Is there any way i can remove those apps from there.
