Default looking for a weather app

I'm looking for a good weather app. that has a widget that shows temp., conditions, and wind direction. It also needs to update and be reliable on the moto droid. I'd prefer a free app. but will buy one if I have to. Anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah, I'd say the weather channel has the best free weather app. I've heard Weatherbug is the best if your willing to pay though.

I would go with Weather Channel if you want a free app. If you don't mind paying or using up quite a bit of space, though, I would go with Weather Bug Elite.

I had the weather channel app it worked pretty well but, it doesn't display the wind speed and direction on the widget. Do you know if weather bug does? Thanks for the suggestions.

I have Weather Bug Elite (great app BTW). There are three widgets available (1x1, 1x2, 1x4) but none of them display wind info, and it does not allow you to configure the widgets to display alternative data.

I use weather bug, with the 1x1 widget, it doesn't display wind speed or direction on the widget, but clicking on the widget will take you to the full app where it does.

As far as I know there are no weather widgets that'll display any other information other than the temperature and a forecast.

I like the USA Today app's weather page. You can set multiple locations, you swipe-scroll to get to a new location. The page displays sunrise/sunset, heat index, humidity and wind speed and direction as well as a five-day forecast, and radar is a couple of clicks away (menu, show radar). It doesn't update constantly and takes a while to load, but so far, it's my favorite.

I found a pretty good widget with wind info. If anyone else is interested. It's Accuweather.com widget. Check it out.

Maybe you should try Palmary Weather.. it's free and much better than weatherbug and any others that I have come across.

As a pilot, I have many weather sites book marked for different concerns, Icing, winds, etc. The first one I check The Prescott, Arizona Aviation Weather Report and Forecast - Wind Speed, Temperature, Wind Direction, Precipitation Forecast gives all the information you're looking for both in text and graphics form. Gives you radar and 7 day forecast. Lots of info on one Web site.

Use the Weather Channel app, and then put a shortcut on your home screen to a site that does it. Or, lick your finger and hold it in the air, whichever side is slightly cool, is where the wind is coming FROM.

Oh god, please do not download the Weather Channel app. I made that mistake when I first got my Android phone and it would bother me nonstop until I uninstalled it. It has these wonderful features:

- Always launches at startup (cannot change).
- Checks every 5 minutes for severe weather alerts, which drains the battery (cannot change or disable).
- Sends notifications every 5 minutes if there is an alert in your city. I kept getting fog warnings and flood warnings. If you clear your notifications, rest assured you'll get another one in the next 5 minutes to make sure you know that the river three miles from your house might flood in the next few days.

For weather I just use Beautiful Widgets. Anything's better than the Weather Channel.

There is one weather widget that really impresses me, and that is "Weather Widgets" by Thomware. This is by far the best w-widget I have tried, and I have tried a lot of them... :-)

I've used both the Weather Channel and Weather Bug but I've found Weather Bug to cause lag on my phone so I've stuck with the Weather Channel.

Licking your finger and putting it into the air is better than using the Weather Channel app... ha ha ha.
