Default group mms/sms

Hi.

From what I have been reading, this is problem was created by other carriers/devices, but it affects me.

Is there a way to receive group texts from iphones sent to my phone (virgin mobile LG optimus V)? It would have to be a texting app replacement, so I can continue using the same number.

Thx!!

I do not believe there is a way for the group text feature of the iPhones to be compatible with anything on Android at this time. Believe it's something proprietary from Apple.

Actually goSMS and Handcent both support iPhone group texting.

I use GoSMS and group text with my friends with iPhones all the time: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jb.gosms&hl=en

Stigy: Did you keep your same number, or do you have to use a number provided by GoSMS or Handcent?

Thx!!!

It uses your same number. Both are just 3rd party SMS apps (replacing stock SMS app) that support iPhone group messaging.

It looks like the verizon messenger works exactly the way that I need it, any ideas on how to port it to my virgin mobile optimus V?

I downloaded the Verizon Messages app and turned off all the notifications in the settings. Only use Verizon Messages for group messages, use the default for everyday texting.
