[OT] Application Development - IM Program
Hello,
Not sure if this is the correct forum, so please forgive and direct me if it isn't.
I am looking into the viability of creating an IM program for Android that will have the following protocols understood :- AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, Jabber / GTalk
What I am wanting to know is, are there any people out there that
A] Any alternatives that support these protocols from one program
B] Would require or like this
C] Anything you can think to add into the program, likes / dislikes etc
I am also looking into being able to send IM messages to people via SMS so you do not have to have a Data package attached to your network etc, or if you want to turn Data package / Mobile internet off. I know that that unlimited SMS packages are now available on some networks and was hoping to leverage this.
As this will be an Android program then it will work on all Android phones not just HTC Hero, I am only contacting here because I have aforementioned phone myself. Of course if there is a much better place to put this that will attract other people using Android then I would like to know this too.
If anyone is interested in this please let know via this thread. I do not want to start developing it and then find there is no interest lol.
