Default Tune in radio issue

Hi all.

I recently started using tuneIn radio. It's a great app but I am having an issue with it cutting out all the time. It is well within WiFi range when this happens. I discovered yesterday that if my handset is plugged into the mains, it doesn't happen, even if the phone is fully charged and the green light is on. It seems very odd.

Can anyone help?
Thanks

Thanks, I will try that. It's odd how it is fine when plugged in. I also use the pro version, my wife uses the free version which worked fine until recently but that too has started doing it.

Can anyone recommend an alternative radio app that does not suffer from this problem

I wouldn't be able to confirm whether it cuts out or not because it's not available in my country. But try Grooveshark. It's not exactly the same as tune in but similar

Tunein aggregates streams from a variety of sources, so they're only as good as their source. Think of it as a browser for streams.

Many stations offer a choice of streams. Try a lower bitrate one. A 56-64k AAC+ stream (marked simply as AAC on Tunein) sounds just as good as 128k mp3, minus the buffering and data consumption. Pandora and similar programs stream this by default.

Similar stream aggregators will have the same issues as Tunein. You could try IHeartRadio. It doesn't offer the vast selection that Tunein does, but all stations stream in AAC+, are very stable and sound good. Really good interface too.

Cheers guys. Still seems odd how it plays with out issue when plugged into the mains. May try one of the suggestions. Shame really because I have found some great stations
