Default Lock apps

I'm looking for a safe lock app. Free anyway. Most of the ones I've found on the play store have weird and unnecessary permissions that make me wary.

Anyone know of any free ones without wanting to read my sms lol?

Have look at 'Perfect App Protector'.
Hope that is what you want

The app can make phone calls, but it didn't yet on that phone which I give my kids for game playing

That is a really weird permission it's asking for, I saw that one in there. It's not the one that shows an icon on my notification bar is it?

I use "Super AppLock" which is great. It ask for alot of permissions, but they are understandable. If you think about it, if you have the app lock activated, and depending on which apps you have locked, it will block those apps and ask for the password in order to use that app. Which means that it will be allowing you to make the phone call. This goes for the other apps as well, that you have locked.

When you want to hide the app on the phone you'll need to call it, therefore the app needs telephony permissions

I never got AirPush notificaton from this app.

Call it? I'm not trying to block the phone app, just my email apps.

No, for using the option to make the blocker app invisible on the phone.
And also for to bring it back to visibility, you have use the phone app to "call" the blocker app.

I'd like to bump this for some fresh ideas. I don't mean to be a bother so I apologize if that's the case

Pretty much my emails and photo gallery. But like I said, the permission of these apps that I can't find make me wary. I'll take a look at smart lock. Thanks man

The way you typed this post is fishy, maybe it's just your English but still. I don't like the permissions and the comments report allot of problems that make it on my "never download list". Only redeeming quality is it doesn't want full internet access, or maybe I missed it. But unless it's explained, a lock app that wants to read my log data will not make it on my phone. Thanks anyways tho

To be honest, I don't think your going to find a good app. lock that won't have the permissions you describe. Just check the reviews for each app suggested and make your decision from there. All your other apps on your phone have a bunch of permission as well. It sounds like your not understanding the permissions and why certain apps require them. But I could be wrong.

I understand permissions, and there's no reason a lock app should need log data. You do know what might data is right? It's a very precious permission and if your letting any app that you don't fully trust access that.... well shame on you

You are correct and I trust the app. So no worries for me. As a matter of fact, it has 4 1/2 stars rating. I'll be sure to report any problems here, should some arise.
