Default ultimatefave style widget/app

hey all im looking for a widget that is like ultimate fave that i can use to have quick access to my favourite apps. i like ultimatefave but the fact that you have to open the app before you get the apps up is a bit annoying. anyone know of anything that is better?

More Icons widget does the trick for me; only downside is that, of course, the icons become much, much smaller. Okay if you don't have enormous fingers.

Another alternative is WidgetPack. Gives you an app dock. Problem is, it's seriously ugly.

If you don't mind home replacements, HelixLauncher lets you put shortcuts in your launcher (four), and I haven't tried it--been a while since I used it last--but you should be able to put folders there.

launcher dock is the closest to what im looking for, however the actual icon is really small on the home screen, ideally im looking for something that resembles the options that launcher dock or ultimate fave give you, but straight up on your home screen.
