Default Can't back up call logs to Google Calendar with SMS Backup +

I've been using SMS Backup + by Jan Berkel for some time with great results.

It's been backing up texts & call logs to Gmail just fine. But I just now noticed call logs are no longer being backed up to my Google Calendar (Gcal).

Does anyone know hot to get this feature to work again?

I am using SMS Backup + version 1.4.5 (latest version, I believe), Android 2.1 on an old Samsung Moment on Sprint.

The developer's page says: "You can also add call log entries to a Google calendar. Just select Calendar sync in Advanced settings, and make sure you have selected a calendar to sync with." Except there is no "Calendar sync" option in Advanced settings. https://github.com/jberkel/sms-backup-plus#usage

I'm wondering if perhaps the latest version does not support this, but can't find a way to find this out, as the developer's page has no comments section. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you tried contacting the developer using the "email developer" link on the Play Store page for SMS Backup +?

Suggesting an alternative... I've been using CallTrack for 2+ years without issue. Each call is logged in my calendar automatically as soon as the call is completed.

Emailed the developer twice to the "email developer" link as well as the email address on his website, but no response.

Per your recommedation, I installed Call Track, which is performing just as expected. Thanks for the recommendation!

Default Solution found

In case some one else runs into this problem, I figured out the solution.

In SMS Backup+, you need to go into "Advanced settings", then into "Backup Settings", then check the box for "Backup Call log", then go to "Call log settings", and check off "Calendar sync". All this I had done. But you then also need to click on the last option in the "Call log settings" menu to pick which Google Calendar your call logs should be backed up to.

I recently reset my phone to factory settings, and despite reinstalling SMS Backup+ and CallTrack, I was getting no call logs in Gmail. Turns out both programs require you to tell them which calendar the calls should be backed up to. I'd mistakenly assumed they defaulted to my "Calls" calendar (which I stupidly thought had been created by the app, rather than by me.)

This is one of my frustrations with the instability of Android, which causes me to periodically reset the phone, and reinstall programs. That part is easy; it's remembering all the custom settings I have for each app that is a chore & a headache.
