Keeping in mind the floating video player, are there any music playing apps for galaxy s3 which permit you to have a mini window that floats above another window e.g. a running application?
Edit, title meant to say galaxy!

Basically I'm after floating controls for music player.
e.g. 5 buttons for Track change up/down, album change up/down and play/pause.
I'm amazed that I'm finding it hard to find such a facility on a music player.
It would be ideal for when I'm out running as I can have the running application open with the music player controls floating over it.

But you can have the running application open with the music controls accessible. Just pull down the notification bar and your music controls are there, then close the bar and you're back to the open app, you did not even close it. This works if you are using the stock music player for TouchWiz.

Thanks, never noticed that feature, it certainly does make things more user friendly. Could do with album changing buttons as well but this solution will do for now :-)
Still I'm surprised there is no pop out controls that can float above another window.

The popup on the video is an innovative feature Samsung made. I don't think any video app in market has had it before it was demoed on the SIII. They probably thought that the music controls was not needed because of the shader controls. As for album changing buttons, doubt you'll find any. I never found an app that has a "next album" button anywhere.
I'm using endomondo runnng application and unfortunately the stock music player does not link with it as it provides data on running pace against music track. So I'm still looking for a music player that has a pop out controls that floats?

Oh right, I remembered you can try Quickdesk or SwipePad. I used to have them. LOL.
Quickdesk
Not sure how it will work on newer devices, but it's a task switcher which lets you put widgets on it. Basically you get a scrollable dock at the bottom for your recent apps, then a 4x4 grid on the rest of the screen, like a homescreen. You can put the power amp widget there. You access it by double tapping the homescreen, then it will appear *over* the current app just like your stock task switcher would.
Swipepad
Works kinda like Quickdesk but is more recently updated. Basically you set up a zone where when you press and hold, swipepad appears over the currently running app and lets you have shortcuts. You need then the Widgetpad add-on, so when you activate the swipepad, you can swype to the PowerAmp widget to activate it, making it float over your current app.
Found an application called 'Poweramp status bar'
It provides audio controls for other music players on the task bar.
Works with pro player, Poweramp
Controls : previously track, play /pause, next track.
Would be perfect if had previous / next album buttons.
Still like to find an application with that feature and/or pop out music player controls?

The above apps I mentioned allows you to do that actually. Pop out widgets over the current running app. Not sure if the Poweramp widget had next album controls, but if it had, all you need is to set either up.

Thanks, installed swipe pad and like it. Good recommendation. Will look at quick desk shortly.

I thought it was a unique feature that no app had accomplished before also, until I was reading a recent article about the Note 2 and they mentioned this app:

Pretty good option for those without a SGS3 though. Works pretty darn well on my Photon and also supports youtube links (although, I haven't attempted that yet). Only thing I don't like yet is you can't customize it to show specific folders only and you can't set it to soft decode, prior to hard decode, so some of my videos don't play correctly. Overall, the concept is great.
The music app I'm developing called Music Player (Remix) has a feature called the "mini-player" which allows you to display music and playlist controls (pause/play, next, previous, scrubber bar, and a scrollable now playing list) by swiping up from the bottom edge of the screen while using any other app.
