Default Kingsoft Office Spreadsheet - how to use

Hi,

I downloaded Kingsoft Office - both the regular and the 'international' edition - but I can't see a way to format cells for currency in the spreadsheet application that permits you to use anything other than $. How can I format cells to display as GBP currency, eg 12,345.67? Just can't find it in the preferences anywhere.

Thanks for any help.

I don't know if this will help you, but for the next day or two Office Suite Pro is on sale for 25 cents as part of the 25 billion downloads celebration from Google. This is a steal as it is usually over $10. Head over to the Play Store if you are interested.

For me, the pound symbol appears to be a function of my keyboard and not the spreadsheet program

Thanks for the reply. Will take a look, but it would be a shame if there's no way to modify the default currency in Kingsoft, as it's an otherwise excellent app.

The way it works is this - in spreadsheet programs, it's possible to format a range of cells so that any numbers that appear in them are displayed as units of a currency, prefixed by a currency symbol and with a comma and two decimal places, eg 1400 will display as 1,400.00. But in Kingsoft, it only seems to be possible to use a $ symbol, unless I'm missing something.

Sorry to inform you that I was mistaken about the google 25 cent sale. It is not cumulative. The apps on sale are on sale for only that day only and Office Suite Pro is no longer on sale.

Have you checked is there is anything in settings > Language & input you can change that may add this? On my Galaxy Nexus I use swype in Office Suite Pro spreadsheets and it appears that everything about the input in the spreadsheet relates back to my swype settings, including my personal dictionary.

Thanks for the reply again. Everything related to language settings is already set to UK English.

However I did find a workaround - if I transfer the document to my PC I can set the currency to on there, then save it - and it does display properly on being opened again under Kingsoft on the tablet. I don't need to create new spreadsheets often so I'm happy enough with that.

One niggle - it displays a space after the , so for example I see 1,400.00 instead of 1,400.00 - but for a free app that's excellent overall, I can't complain.

Another thing I noticed is that there doesn't seem to be a way to change fonts, say from Ariel to Tahoma, etc.
But I agree that it's an excellent program.
