Default are there app permissions that are irrelevant for tablets ?

I'm aiming more on game permissions but this post is on normal app permissions too.

lots of time when I look on games permission I see
"read phone state and identity"
which from my limited understanding (new to android) dose not suppose to worry me if I have a tablet (Teac TC-7120) that can't make calls neither connected to any phone company.

so are there any permissions that as a tablet user I can count out of consideration ?

"Make phone calls" and "Send SMS or MMS"

Phone calls, SMS and MMS are relevant for some tablets. Case in point, the entire Samsung tablet lineup except for the original 10.1 can make calls and send SMS and MMS. Which makes the read contact data permission valid as well.

As for is it valid for a game, depends on the nature of the game, if it can look for friends who log in to the service, like the com2us games with the friends hub service.

The game in question is "Juggernaut Revenge of Sovering"

Another thing this game asks for is
receive data from Internet
Allows apps to accept cloud to device messages sent by the app's service. Using this service will incur data usage. Malicious apps could cause excess data usage.

Another game that asks that is "Six Guns"

Juggernaut - not sure about the contacts, but I feel the internet access is for in app purchases. Games like this usually have the more powerful items for sale via in app purchase

Six-Guns - won't worry about it as its made by GameLoft (if I'm not mistaken this company is even older than Android was and has long since been in the gaming scene). But most likely this handles like Contract Killer, where new special missions are downloaded daily for special offers, which means it needs the internet access. I believe this also has in app purchases.

I'm almost completely sure my tablet can't make calls (made a little search in the options. it can connect to 3G network but I can't make calls) so I think I'm safe on that account.

And yes from videos I saw on Juggernaut it does have a in game purchases system
