Default Get MyBackup Pro for FREE

Hi everyone,

Rerware, creators of MyBackup Pro, are planning to move servers and we need people to Beta test the new release of MyBackup Pro.

The good news is that since we need 2000 people for testing, you can grab this BETA build for Free. MyBackup Pro’s normal price is $4.99

The only stipulation is that during the BETA stage, you will only be able to backup your data via our online server. You will be getting 1GB of storage for free. When it leaves BETA, the SD card functionality will return, and you can continue to enjoy all the benefits of the Pro version as well as the 1GB of cloud storage for Free.

You can download this build from here:
http://www.rerware.com/Android-Backup/MyBackupPro324az.apk
and use 950899793 for the activation code.

Note: This download and activation code will ONLY work for the first 2000 users to activate it.

If you have any issues or questions please contact us directly at support@rerware.com

If you want to login to this BETA build online, you won’t be able to do it through the normal rerware.com site since this build is testing a different server. The updated server can be access from here:
Beta1.rerware.com

Forum administrators: Please note that this is not a solicitation; this is an offer to get a free copy of MyBackup Pro.

Thank you from RerWare!

Thanks, rog/RerWare! Appreciate it.
Downloaded and installed it. Backing up/uploading the whole shebang online tonight. Let's see how it all works out.

Just did it. Guess I made the first 2000 users.

Will do a test backup soon.

Thanks!

The PIN in the email doesn't work. Just keeps getting Activate screen over and over.

If 2000 are done, may be you should remove the apk

Finished the backup/upload rather quicker than I anticipated (or maybe it just thrashed a couple gigs of my data Only one way to find out: restore! But I'm holding off on that for the mo).
Anyway, that went uneventful. Still way too many registration, login, password, email address, and PIN code barriers! You devs – I mean in general, the entire brethren – still got a lot of work to do on those ID/authentication system UIs and processes! They are still too complicated, convoluted, and confusing for Joe Blow, Jane Doe, and Aunt Meredith. I.e. 98% of the potential market!

The blocking of the possibility to backup to SDcard is pretty annoying, though!
Can't give any first user 'verdict' without having seen that in operation, as I don't intend to put my first line of defense in a backup strategy that is controlled by a 3rd party's 'cloud'. However pretty blue eyes they have.

I understand, the SD card will start to work once we are out of Beta for this, and you will get to keep the Pro version for free.

I cannot login to the Webviewer, it says my PIN and email are both wrong. And I cannot change my password for the same reasons.

EDIT: Support contacted me and it is working now, thanks.

Downloaded, installed and activated with no problems earlier today. Haven't done a backup yet.

Thanks.

This app is worth buying, and I already have, so I love being able to help test the new servers. Here's hoping it goes well.

My one problem was, while sending a backup of my apps to your storage site, I got and responded to an email. This caused the backup (which was running for more than 15 minutes) to fail without a noticable message.

Any idea – a ballpark figure – when you expect MBP to come out of beta, rog?
Because I'm not going to keep a backup app – that in its present incarnation is not useful to me (because I want my backup data under my own control, and not somebody else's) – on my device on the strength of a vague promise with no end in sight.

It seems as though the Beta site is down, (I think it was for maintenance) anyone know when it's supposed to be back up.
