Default Turn off Data?

Hey Everyone,

I'm new to this whole thing and was thinking about getting a dream...but I can't afford a data plan.

Is there a way or an application that I can use to make it so that the phone won't log into the internet and use data accidentally. Essentially I just want to use Wifi and maybe mobile browser, but no 3g or whatever uses data.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My decision to get this phone depends on you guys!

I believe erasing the APN setting will completely disable cellular data access for that network.

If you're going to be on T-Mobile USA, all you have to do is cancel the data plan, then the phone will not be allowed to access the network.

Even if you're on T-Mobile with no data plan, you'll still want to disable the APN so that applications don't waste battery while they try fruitlessly to connect to the internet.

There is an app APNDroid on the market place for free which toggles 2g/3g on and off.
