Over the top App Permissions?
I've read a few topics on this, and understand that most of these permissions are for the apps general performance, i.e Telling it when you have a phone call so it can quit the game.
But I am still concerned, as that specific permission "Allow phone to see call state, etc" can be used to tell you you've got a call when you're using an app, but it also can see the phone numbers of you and the person calling you.
Surely there should be a permission for noticing phone calls, and one different for it to see the phone numbers, which seems a highly illogical thing for any app to need access to.
I mean, the kindle app wants access to phone numbers! Why? Why does Angry birds need access to phone numbers, contact data and the likes? Is accessing phone state the same as it making phone calls or not?
I'm probably being paranoid, but the amount of apps that want access to all aspects of the phone, all numbers, contact details and the ability to make calls and send texts on it's own, just scares me.
I don't want these apps selling my phone number or that of my friends and family to telesales. And I certainly don't want it making phone calls without my permission, and running up a massive phone bill!
