Has anyone had any success in getting paid apps from your apple Id to your new android without repaying? Somewhere I saw you can reach out to the developers and request the apps? Anyone try and succeed? Would I be wasting my time?

They are 2 different companies that make money when you buy an app. They are completely separate. Any app you buy from Apple's app store, Apple gets a cut of the price. The same goes for Google and Google Play.

Just like if you buy Android apps then you would for some reason downgrade to iOS in the future you would have to rebuy all your apps

Makes total sense but I read on some blog people were able to get some paid apps free when they switched. But I understand your logic.

I read once that if you contact the developer of the app in question they are usually pretty good about giving you a free swap over to the new platform. I have no idea if this is true. And I only assume that they will deactivate the platform purchase you are leaving.

Also, could take a while.

It depends on the developer and how the app was purchased. If it was a game or app you bought, you are going to just have to buy it again. Otherwise if the developer just sent you the app it wouldn't be linked to Google Play or get updates.

If it was a free app where you purchased an unlock they might provide the unlock on the new platform, then the main app would still get updated. That is really the only scenario I can see having any success transferring a purchase.

Last I heard, there is some software that lets you get apps on the iphone for free. But this would be a setback for the iphone application development community. Hence I always suggest against the use of this software. But then again I don't understand why any and almost eery app on the iPhone is paid.

Because IOS didn't embrace the ad driven idea or Free limited versions of apps until recently.

There are ways to get the apps on iOS and Android for free, but this is piracy and not allowed here.
